Hi, I am using the Altec Lansing ATP3 2.1 Speaker System Enhanced
, and recently I noticed some buzzing sounds may occur while I was playing WC3. I tried to unplug and re-plug the connection wire, and it's still not working too good. Is it possible for a speaker to ware out its life expectancy within a year?? Or could there be any other reason? :confused:
By da way, I am using the Abit NF7-S re2.0's onboard sound, which is 5.1 Dolby Digital supported.
1) a. Did you try turning your speakers up loudly
b. If you did, did they distort?
2) Does this buzzing occur with anything else, or just the wc3?
3) Have you moved the cable quite a bit?
The reasons I ask this is:
1) Turning your speakers up loudly will clip your speakers and potentially damage them, as well as your amp. Just because the volume control goes to a maximum volume doesn't mean it's safe to push it that high for your amp or your speakers.
2) It could just be a your onboard sound not being very good quality, as onboard generally isn't. I don't think this is the case though, since you have the nForce's onboard, which is supposedly pretty decent.
3) Cables that are moved a lot will crack and cause such problems. Other problems are random volume drops and potentially sound interference.

2) I think it only occurs sometimes in WC3, coz today when I play CS, it was working great again.
3) I don't think I moved its cables alot....even if I did, I already replugged them
I don't think it's my MB's onboard sound problem too....coz it's working great when I am listening to MP3s. However, it seems to occur just sometimes in WC3....so I guess it's probably some sounds files corrupted or something. I will play more to see if that's really the case. Thx for the info
