Not sure what is going on with it. They haven't said a damn thing...
with all the delays and hush hush talk about HL2, and now the delay of a petty benchmark i'd think the game would be swept under the rug and intentionally forgotten about if it werent for super mega ultra overclocked triple addicted gamers...
LOL! :DQuote:

It has a long way to go before it becomes DNF.Quote:

you've gotta admit it's pretty pathetic now, they're acting like it's a top secret military operation, tomsharware and a couple other "reviewers" were only allowed like an hour to test it out, and they werent allowed to use the beta detonator 50 drivers, and ati only had a 5600 NON ultra for them to use... starting to sound pretty lame altogether.
release dates are now meaningless until I actually see the game on a store shelf...same goes for demos...benchmarks...etc...any information about the release date of something is probably just when they are planning on another announcement for a delay...it's all a joke to me...
Is some one just a little bitter about the delay? ;)Quote:

Hmmm...Now that the benchmark as missed it's date without a work from Valve or anyone, I'm wondering exactly what Valve is up to....
Maybe they're trying to get the damn GAME out the door early, and just surprise everyone one day... (wishful thinking).
Yeah, I have to admit, I was hoping to see something on Steam about the bench....But nothing....It's almost like they all gave up....
..thinking happy thoughts....

STEAM? heh i equate this to those new nostra-dumbass people who predict the end of the world, earth quakes etc... when the predicted date comes and goes they are no where to be found for comment... it's entertaining in a way...a sick kind of way.
what makes you think that? ;)Quote:

It's rediculous what they are doing though. They know this is a highly anticipated game, then they decide 6 days before release to basically say "sorry your screwed" and that's it.
Sorry - I still don't understand why this is considered "screwing us".Quote:

I do agree that it was a bit strange to wait until the last minute before saying anything, but they definitely did not screw us by doing so. Sure, it was disappointing. But, we can only speculate why there was a delay. And I'm sure it was for good reason. Do you actually think they wanted to break their deadline? Of course not! They're in the business to make and sell games - not to piss off customers on purpose!
Pushing the release date back can only help us not get screwed. If they chose to release it on Sept 30th, and it was full of bugs and problems, you'd have a ton of really pissed off people claiming that Valve screwed them.
Basically, Valve made a mistake by saying a specific date. The fact that they stuck to it until the last minute tells me that something happened that was unforseen, or out of their control (Vivendi's fault perhaps?). But Valve did not screw us. So the game isn't here yet. Big freakin' deal. How does that screw you? And don't give me any excuses like "I bought new computer parts just to play this game, and now that it's pushed back, I wasted all this money...wahh whaaaa...I would have waited, whaaaa...."
Please...
