wow that ram looks prutty :) I know its a 256mb stick but screw that its enough for 3dmark and nearly all games. I havent $80-100+ for a 512mb and that bad boy cost me $37 bucks! Now if I can push 215fsb at 2-2-2-6-t1 with that ram, I should get about 15,100 marks with my ti4200 at 290/600. I may be out for a while benching and tweaking, but will get back to you with results, hopefully success :) It is time to do tons and tons of eating........bench and munch on!!!!!!!!
I was thinking of getting this RAM so I am curious as to the results.
btw, $37 is a good price, where did you get it from?

Its crappy Value ram, Stop with the Value ram and get the XMS stuff...
That is where its at!
Or atleast if you are going to be getting cheaper stuff, go with Buffalo Tech... In some of there sticks, they use the same ram as Corsair :)

I have two sticks of pc2100 ram also, ill probably sell my corsair stuff and just use the generic ram at 3-3-3-7 at 166fsb :(

good ram is very expensive and rare, but if your ram is up to it, try for a very high fsb, like 220+ :D

sadly, its not gonna happen for now, but when the prices of those amd64's drop and when they go to 90nm and the whole platform matures, ill eat you so badly :eek: :D

hahah that worked far better than that xms which wouldnt run stable even at 166fsb and wouldnt load windows higher than that. and yes the xms was pc3000 and yes I tried relaxing the timings to no avail. at least that value stuff does 190fsb at 2.95v at 2-2-2-6-t1
anyway I can not get past 190fsb, I tried raising the ram voltage to 2.95, relaxing the timings, using other video cards, even setting my hdd to pio3 mode. at 200fsb it either didnt boot, gave a bsod before windows finished loading, rebooted or locked up as soon as windows loaded. I am beginning to wonder maybe its not my ram but something else preventing me from past 190fsb. Colossus says its the kt400 chipset limiting me. Is it cause my pci is too high? The only pci thing I have is my modem and its not in use! well this sucks and no 15k, no higher 3dmarks for now. I am not getting an nf2. should I try once more with new ram, call it quits or what?
Its not the pci too high. I'd say its just your board itself. I've 3DMarked my KT333 at much higher than 190. Time to throw in the 15K towel
I dont remember Corsair every making XMS PC3000... Let me guess it was an ebay purchase? You do know people can damage the hardware and sell it off there.. So saying it doesnt do x, y or z is kinda hard to believe :D
But it could be a generic stick with Corsairs heatspreader on it :)
I just looked over Corsairs product guide and it doesnt list a PC3000.. AFAIK, Kingston was the only one that did.. But I didnt really look into that...
My XMS PC2700 does PC3200, easily.....
Yeah Corsair makes/made pc3000 here
I wonder why its not on their list of XMS products?

he said just resell it, it worked fine on his Intel rig
