other options im looking for are dual channel ddr400 and support for an OEM IDE ULTRA ATA100/133 drive
-id also like to keep the price more towards $80 than around the 100 mark but ill buy up if advised its totally worth the extra money

If you plan on using that hard drive for a long time (meaning you don't need SATA), you could go for the Shuttle AN35N for like $60. Seems like the Abit NF7-S is the king of overclocking though, so if you're into that, spend the extra $25.

MCP-T means that the onboard sound is Nvidia Soundstorm, the plain NF7 does not have it. IMO, if you going with Abit pay a few dollars more and get the NF7-S not the NF7.Quote:

Abit is a company you either love or hate. I'm on the not so fond side. I don't care what anyone says, Abit has some of the highest return rates of any mobo maker out there and does have QA problems.
you want soundstorm for excellent onboard audio quality... the NF7 does not have it... if you dont care about the sound quality.. might as well save alot of $$$ and go with the shuttle a35n or epox 8rda...Quote:

Unless you're an "audiophile", the Abit NF7 will suit your needs perfectly. They are stable and OC like a biotch...:D
I don`t know why you keep saying they are stable, when eveyday someone is RMAing them because they can not get them to post because the bio`s went south. I guess you could say they are stable if you don`t OC them. In my opinion its a turkey shoot if you get one that you can OC without it currupting the bio`s And he would have a better chance of getting a good one, if he got a NF7-S.Quote:
