I need to buy a laser printer and i did some search .
i will select one of those printers .
HP 1010w,1005w OR Xerox 3120.
Xerox 3120 seems better technical wise. but i dont know if their products are better than HP's when quality is concerned.
Which one would you select , or would you choose Xerox?
Also i am planning to refill the toner , is there any problem with refilling toners with these models?

And Xerox for my photocopiers :)

Back on topic. HP makes great lazer printers.
I dont think Lexmark is bad.. I have rather good experience with them (outside their cheap line like the E12).. I like their larger ($800 and up) network laser printers :)
I agree with Colossus. Laser printers have a specified monthly duty cycle. If you exceed it you'll likely destroy the printer. I've had much better experience with commercial quality Lexmark printers than with commercial quality HP printers. Any commercial quality printer will be superior to a consumer quality unit.
My 312 with 68MB ram gets by fine but until recently I've only printed an average of maybe 20-50 pages a month. It may be 100 or so now :)Quote:

I have a multifunctional Xerox laser printer/photocopier. It works great. Excellent quality.
Saler at the computershop told that Hp laser printers also come with a demo toner , which can only print 1000pages. is that true?
Probably. I believe that is true of most of the cheaper models at least. Mine came with a 1500page toner. That lasted a few years. Then I got a refill kit for $25 (lasts 3 refills then you need to replace the entire cartridge).Quote:

I'd go for a samsung laser printer. Great price for what they offer.
Hadone for close to a month, returned it after I wanted to also have the option of printing in color.
I have a strong dislike for Lexmark inkjet printers.... I once did own a commercial Lexmark printer, about 7yrs ago... I really loved it, back in the day when when the printers were still called "IBM Lexmark"
We've had nothing but bad luck with our Lexmark printers since switching from IBM. Their rollers and trays seem to have a lot of issues. They just don't seem to hold up that well even if you are within the limits.Quote:

A great printer IMO is the Xerox Phaser especially if you want color. It uses solid ink rather than toner so the images always look glossy even on regular paper. It may be a little expensive but you can get one under $1300 after rebate.
HP, HP, HP - the only company you should really consider for a laser printer, unless you can find a Canon. Or look on eBay and every now and then you can find the large business class Lexmarks very cheap, if you can find one get it, they are absolute monsters. These things are rated upwards of 100,000 pages per month and have huge 25,000 page carts for cheap.
But whatever you do, make sure of one thing. It is a tray load and not a top load. All top load printers break, it is a fact. Tray load printers have infinitely less paper jam issues and they are much, much more reliable. I just got rid of a one year old Lexmark (small business class laser printer) because of this. The same thing happened to an old Canon of mine.
I have clients that deals in thousands of pages per day printed and when they had the HP5SIMX and later on a LexMark Optra T634.. The Optra was serviced much less then the HP.. The HP would constantly have problems...Quote:

The Optra on the other hand worked flawlessly...
I guess it depends on the model.. What models did you have problems with? The older crappy Optra R+?
Even the lower end Lexmark 630 is a great model.. I have worked with most of Lexmark's lineup...
I used to be a DIE HARD HP Fan, but I have been moving more to Lexmark since they are just as good IMO if not better...
Granted the lower end Lexmark Lasers SUCK! And if you are going for a lowend consumer laser then it would be an HP.. I like the HP LJ 1200 if you are looking for a nice cheap laser printer!
