If you could give us more info once that would be sweet. What screen resolution did you choose? Overall weight and size opinion for carrying it around? When you play a game that only uses resolutions such as 1024x768, etc etc... can you choose to have black bars on the sides so that it does not distort and stretch out the game images?
I'm considering getting a laptop near xmas time, so i'm still researching ;)
Ya I love to hear bout the laptop:)
heh ok Well ive only had it for about 3 days now,
Goods,
Screen is beuuuutiful (i got the 15.4 wsga+)
quite keyboard
I just got done playing call to duty demo ran like a gem
Movies look amazing from what ive seen
4 and a half hours of battery time, this is key for me since I have some 4 hour classses i like to type notes in
Did I mention the big *** pretty screen?
Bads,
Its big, well I dont mind but I know some people do
I cant tell how heavy it is its semi heavy but I carry 17 credits worth of books along with it.
It does heat up after an hour or 2 of heavy proc work...not so bad it will burn ya but it could make you uncomfortable....a magizine or something usually solves that problem
Ill check into the black bars things in a bit
Things I havent checked,
game performance other than call of duty demo
Burning Dvd or CD
I have the 8500 and can answer some of those questions.
I do not know a way to have black bars on the screen, the distortion is not noticable to me during play.
My 8500 plays games well but I can't speak for yours.
BTW, I have a backpack carrier that fits, it's the ?Targa? from Dell's website. But my zipper broke on it
my first wireless post ;P
kinda nice sitting anywhere I want on campus surfing the web...gonna make paying attention in class a BIaaach
Check the Dell Community forums for the Black bars
www.dell.com
I heard theres an FN combo for it.
I played through MP2 on it high details no AA, played flawless, plus it came in the widescreen resolution

Well if the heat it puts off is any indication when its on full load it is lol
good thing I live where its cold so that the heat is helpful
Where's your campus? Where do you live?
Also, my 8200's GF4MX handles MP2 at everything max very well.
So you'll need to find a more demanding game to test this out.
Why not try out 3DMarks03?
