iTunes?

I really like this program, and buying music is a breeze with it.

Also, the music you buy is 128Kbps AAC audio, Im sure most of you are saying, well only 128Kbps.

But I did a test, I encoded off my Dave Matthews CD, the song Gravedigger, using EAC+LAME, and using iTunes which encodes it using AAC at 128Kbps.

I cannot tell the difference, using my Audigy 2, and HD212 Pros, HD497, and Altec Lansing 641s.

If you plan on gettin an iPod, (getting 1 next month :D) then I would get this program and encode all of your tunes in 128 AAC. I figured I would just take all of my 328Kbps MP3s on to it, but this will save a ton of space.

i dont like the AAC format, and converting AAC to MP3 will loose sound quality. plus you have to stick with the ipod to play AAC files unless you do the afforementioned AAC to MP3 conversion which is unnacceptable to me.

I use the OS X version daily at work, and love it. I plan on using the windows version (which I tried out and uninstalled) when/if I get an iPod. For music playback I still use winamp, because it's so versatile.

It's a cool little program even if you don't use the music store. Using it atm for the radio stations, they got tons of stuff to listen too, decent quality streams too.

Oh I wouldn't convert my MP3s to AAC, but I will ripp new files, using AAC to bring over to my iPod.

I'd rather go out and buy the damn CD with the nice cover and stuff :D

I'd rather use .ogg's than both. Frankly, I'd much rather not use proprietary coding.

Seriously, 99 cents for a song is a lot. I understna dthat it's only one song, but come on you just bout 4mb file... It's so easy to delete... Now, charge .99 for every song that i put in a CD (or SD CARD or whatever else...) that you will make for me and charge me shipping, now we're talking more of a deal.
