Take the whole thing, you might want to use it before yau can return home.
Unless you have a super-large and heavy tower or multiple machines, there's no reason not to take the whole thing.
BTW, I hope you're kidding and just thinking about this to be prepared. If the fire really is on its way, good luck, pal. I lived in Boulder a couple years ago when I could look out the office window and see the flames. Not fun.
im not kidding dude...
one fire has destroyed more than 80,000 acres, 60 homes... our parking lot of covered in ash dude, my car which is black is a grey color, the sun is red......it's like nuclear fallout dude! smells bad, we have the AC on to try and filter some of the air....fire is 8 to 10 miles from me man!!!! $900,000 houses up in smoke, its insane and it all happened overnight by some retarded hunter with a flare gun, w t f was he hunting in san diego? man.... hope it doesnt move further south.
and the air traffic control center in san diego was located near the fire, they evacuated the center and now los angeles is running our air traffic control! the center that got shut down monitored air traffic out to arizona and las vegas....this is crazy, southwest airlines and america west have stopped service in and out of lindbergh field, and the fire appears to be getting cloer due to wind changes and now the sun in just a hot pink dot. even the chargers cancelled practice, not that it matters much they suck but i wonder if the game will still happen tomorrow.
No way, some of the flames had made it to San Diego.Quote:

If you have one computer, I would take just the case at the very least and any CD'S you can't live without.
This fire has killed at least 11 and over 300+ homes.
just grab the tower and run. forget peripherals and the monitor
unless you have one of those 92" grand canyon monitors... keep that imo!
Whole tower, unless insurance claim = upgrade.
Good luck.

I agree. Good luck to you.
Good luck to you, buddy. I live in a fire prone area, so I know what it's like. We had one fire take out 1.2mil hectares (or acres... big fire, anyway) last year, and I know people who've lost homes. Reminds me I've gotta clean out the gutters next weekend...
Check your insurance policy - many policies don't actally cover bush fire. If you have time, take what you can. Otherwise, get outta there and take care!
I'm so glad I don't live in a fire prone area, good luck
i live in an apartment, so much for insurance. last i heard was well over 200 homes, this fire will not die! every single fire fighter in san diego is fighting it, the problem is we sent a bunch of fire fighters earlier before this fire started to fight the san bernardino forest fire. they are saying we are the last priority, i dont think "they" know how bad this fire is...the governor has already called it a disaster area. a smaller plane has even crashed cause no one was in the tower to direct him. "monday night football" is probably going to be postponed until tuesday they say. this is bad.
i can smell smoke and i live in las vegas
instead of taking hard drives take the whole pc tower, this won't take as long, grab anything else that has great value that you could quickly pack up and load into a car, good luck man i hope nothing bad happens
this morning the fires were about 3 blocks from my grandpa's house, he had to load everything up last night. but as far as i know the fires havent hit him yet, they were moving in a different direction.
if other stuff > computer- forget the computer. but if you have extra room grab the tower. computers are replaceable unlike some other stuff
