messed up side panel

ok i just totally messed up my painting job on my side panel

the one i did yesterday came out fine, but this one omg i blew it i guess its cause i try to go fast well lesson learnt i have finger prints all over and running paint in one place im so mad but i don't care i left it like that since it was my practice one it will show me to be patient when i get my case that im really going to fix up

i also cut out a window i think i did a pretty good job on my first try i will try to have pics tomorrow for you entertainment and laughter

They make this stuff called sand paper ya know :p

nothing left to do but re-sand the pait with a finer grit to get the blemishes and runs out, then sand it again with an even finer grit, then re-spray, it doesn't matter i some spots are exposed on your first shot, you'll get it on your second, trying to cover up to much is what causes runs, I mist when I spray paint so it all comes out even after the 3rd coat.

Grind it down and start over. It seems like minor rounding-off wouldn't really do the job very well.

Painting & Patience: These 2 words go together so well. Me 7 DS feel your pain. Light Coats is the key. If you have to make 6 light coats thats fine its better then 2 real thick ones. Sinc ethis was a Test panel and not the real case your doing its all good.
My Advice would be to Wet Sand case with 400, Prime, Dry 24hours, Wetsand 600, Paint, repeat process up to 1000. 3-4 coats of paint is good. Now when I say light coats I mean one pass over sidepanel, let dry 15 minutes then another light coat and maybe another then let dry overnite. Good Luck

If you want to get a smooth very hard finish, you have to take your time and do all of the steps. Prime it and sand the primer smooth. Then put two or three coats of real enamel on. The fist coat should be very thin and is really just to give the second coat something to stick to. After the last coat is on and has dried for a couple of hours, put the piece into the oven at 225f for three hours. When done, it will by glossy smooth and hard as glass. Make sure you use real enamel, not Krylon, and be sure that the parts and painting area are warm but not overly hot. Also, it is a good idea to be sure that the wife/mom/girlfriend will be out of the house while you bake the finish. They just don’t seem to realize that the oven can be used for things other than cooking food

and im going to leave that side panel the way it is all i might try to do is a blow hole and thats just to see if i got circles down pack

but i do plan on being very very carefull with the case i do plan on modding my ideas on
