New version of DVD Shrink released

New version of DVD Shrink 3.2 was just released with bug fixes and a few key additions.

Now has built in DL support (DVD-9 pulldown menu).

Also has included a new "Quality Settings" tab to further improve picture quality when compression is required.

Various other additions as well, but those where the main 2 that caught my eye.

so u use that, but how do you burn it to dvd using nero?

it uses nero's engine. as long as nero is installed, shrink will do everything for you.

edit: oh and be careful, i think by default it saves the video files on your hdd and doesn't delete them. keep an eye on that.

hmm, how does it compare to dvdxcopy?

i still prefer clonedvd + anydvd over this.

for 1, the fact that it puts that lame disclaimer on the start of every movie "this is a copy made by xcopy blah blah"

2, i have some copies made with xcpopy that won't play on certain players (for some reason)

and 3, it's a PITA to install with all those steps you have to go thru....

if you want to try something simple with a great interface & good video quality, try clonedvd2 with anydvd running in the system tray. as long as anydvd is running, clonedvd2 will do everything for you. you'll see what I mean once you try it. I think there's trial versions of each, or.....if you know where to look ;)

so you have anydvd running and then u use clonedvd to make your backup of the dvd? thats it?

exactly.

when first installed, it will (by default) set itself to autostart with your OS. it takes up no system resources so you can leave it be if you want. i choose to turn the autostart off, safemode off, and just start it myself when i'm going to do a copy.

when i install it on people's computers who don't know that much about making backups, i just leave autostart ON, and "hide icon" so they never have to worry about it, and just use clonedvd2. they never see it so they don't have to think about it.

will it work with dual mode and dual side burners, the 9.4gb ones?
