Different Wireless setup question

Ok I didn't want to hijack the other thread, but it got me thinking. I just got a new hdtv and I want to play my pac games on it. I was originally thinking of just getting some usb extensions and getting a mouse and keyboard over that way. I am thinking about going wireless, but what is the range? They will be about 6ft from the pc. Will there be lag? Should I get bluetooth or regular wireless. Any recommendations? Don't really want to spend more than $100. Thanks.
