Hooray for me being behind the curve and not registering for STEAM yet!
Thats the beauty of credit cards. Everyone should use them while online because if you dispute charges then you dont pay. Quite simple unlike a debit acc.
yay for DVD version of HL2 and no CC info given :)
What isn't getting hacked nowadays!? Seems like nothing is safe anymore. I agree with the above statement - hooray for physical copies!
hooray for buying a used HL2 id/key for $5 with paypal!
I never used my CC on Steam, but I did with XBox live and I hope I don't live to regret it.
Yeah, I just read about that....some BS. The hacker makes no qualms about sharing the info he's gathered, either; he's holding it all for ransom.
F*cker.
Has anyone been to the Steam forums yet to see if they've addressed this? I read the "Hacker's" post and apparently the Steam admins would delete any new posts about the subject. :(
EDIT:
I just hit the Steam forums:

http://steamreview.org/posts/cafecardsstolen/ - in case the above one gets closed by a mod.
That's not what the 'hacker' wrote though, and frankly, I hope Valve doesn't call his bluff...Quote:
As you may by now have heard, “Steam” was broken into a week and a half ago and “consumer” credit card details stolen. As the quote marks suggest the breach has been played up by those behind it, whose exaggerations have been somewhat naively passed on by a number of big sites today. In actuality:
So thats how that charge ended up on my card. Maddox.... I'm totally suing the BEST PAGE IN THE UNIVERSE.
Oh well. The card I used when I bought HL2 is no longer active.
so long as people alert their cc companies this guy has nothing.... like the people who robbed the iraqi central bank for $18 billion in iraqi dinars... now worthless.
It looks like this problem only has to do with web cafes...
hurray to not giving a damn!
Yeah, like I mentioned in my edit that's what Valve is fessing up to, but the hacker claims otherwise - who do you believe in this situation? Sure the hacker is obviously not a very scrupulous person and could be lying about the info he has, but then again, Valve is closing down most threads that are being started on the topic (I saw two close this morning that I posted on), and they didn't say a word about it on their 'News' page.Quote:

Hell, I'm p*ssed anyway about it - their systems have been breached and they have had sensitive, private data stolen and they are taking a very 'Ho-Hum' attitude about it.
woop-de-doo bazzle!
