Ram for E6300
I got an intel DG965wh board and e6300 processor awhile back for cheap and finally have enough extra cash to get ram and a new video card so I can get it up and running. My question is, the board supports up to DDR2 800, is it worth it to get that fast of memory? With this processor the fsb would be clocked at 1066 which means that pc533 should be sufficient unless I'm overclocking and with an oem intel board that isn't gonna happen, lol.

ddr2 ram is pretty cheap right now, so you may as well get some corsair value ddr2 800 or something else cheap like that just incase you upgrade your cpu with a higher fsb you won't have to buy new ram.

You are absolutely correct, DDR2-533mHz will be sufficient in dual-channel. That said, if the price difference is only like 10 bucks to move up to 667 or whatever, then it's worth the 10 bucks as you can probably run that memory at very low timings (if the mobo even allows it lol).

From what I see, DDR2 667 is the same price as DDR2 533 right now. Like the previous poster said, you can buy some nice Corsair XMS DDR2 675 or even some GSkill DDR2 800 for just a few bucks more.
