realistic overclocking
Hello all,
My friend and I just overclocked his PIII 550 to 630MHz. I am planning on buying a PIII 800e because I hear it is good for overclocking. My question is- how much can you realistically overclock a pentium 3 800e (100MHz FSB) if i had a alpha fan and two case fans. I'm not talking about things people have gotten and you say, ooohhhh, or awwwwww...but reasonable.

It really depends on the quality of that particular chip...
In my opinion, I think the 733 is a much better overclocker than the 800. Im running at 933 with an alpha pep66, no problem. 1GHz is fairly realistic for a 800e though..

I hear the 733 does to around 933-950 and 800 to around 970-1015 Ghz. I personally would go with the 733 because I heard better overclockin for it. Have fun https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gif
