Just upgraded my computer with this new card and seem to be having problems with the highest resolution. I have a pretty substantial black border on the screen at 1080p, which is pretty irritating. The screen looks perfect at 1,680x1,050, but that's not exactly the ideal solution. Is it an ATI issue or a Sharp one? Are there drivers that could fix that? (I am currently using the latest release Catalyst drivers from ATI's website - downloaded yesterday).

Is the black border all the way around?
There is an adjustment in the catalyst control center under HDTV, it will allow you to increase the screen size to fill in the black border. It happened to me when I upgraded to a 1080p screen when I had an hd4850. I no longer have ati cards so I can not tell you exactly how to do it, but I can tell you its a software issue and easily fixed.

On the HDTV remote, find the "View Mode" button and make sure it is set to "Dot-By-Dot" (not stretch, or normal, or auto, or anything like that).
In your ATI CCC driver settings, set your resolution to 1920x1080, 60Hz. Uncheck anything that looks like interlacing, resizing image, scaling, etc.
