Will a netbook with an Atom processor stream audio through a usb and run apps both?
Streaming audio isn't very CPU intensive so I don't think an Atom should have much of an issue with it.
By way of comparison my Atom N270@ 1.6GHz powered netbook does 1M on super pi in 1m 36s.
My C2D E8400@ 3GHz does 1M super pi in 15s.
I don't have any idea if it'll do what you need it to, but they are pretty weak.
The Ion netbooks with dual core Atoms look like an improvement.
If you're just going to use one for audio playback, yes it'll be fine. I wouldn't use it for audio encoding though. Even though audio encoding isn't terribly CPU intensive by today's standards, it'll be pretty damn slow on a netbook.
