Windows 7 Sound Card Issue
Hi everyone,
I know I'm not suppose to double post but I noticed this may be the proper area for my question instead of tech help.
I currently have a Sound Blaster Live! PCI card. Which has been such a pal to me over the years. Anyway, since I've upgraded my machine's OS to Windows 7 Ultimate, I have not been able to locate drivers for either my on board audio on my P5PE-VM Asus MoBo or for my Sound Blaster card that fully operate.
I've managed to install the Kx drivers for my Sound Blaster and I can listen to music and my games, but the Microphone isn't working. It was working right before the install and I've reseated it and also tried installing it on a winXP computer I have here. Works fine in XP of course but not Win7. I've also tried the drivers they had for Vista but they didn't work either.
Are there any settings I'm supposed to tinker with in order to get Microphone support?
The main reason I'd like to fix this is for aim, ventrilo & skype use.
If the problem isn't fixable then what card should I invest in?
Some characteristics...
-Windows 7 Ultimate Compatible
-Recording Capabilities would be nice since I write music.
-I use ProTools, Fruityloops & Ableton Live
-Sub $300.00
-Play Games and Listen to Music a lot.
-Though I don't watch many movies on here.
-I mainly listen through a pair of shure in ear buds or Sennheiser headset for gaming.
Any and all help is appreciated. TY
:)
