Lots of people are concerned with internet security...do you think a forum for reporting the latest security theories and fixes would be worthwhile?

I remember posting about Nimda(if you meant viruses) in three different forums in order to get the message out. Mind you it did give me a few extra posts, but I was conscerned as to where I should have posted it once for good measure. OS because it affected Win2000 and others?, Networking because it was internet/ communications related or Tech Support because it was an alert? It's not a half-bad idea at all. Not sure what kind of traffic it would get though. Most net related alerts are sparse, unless covered with topics about firewalls etc. There are subjects within your topic I missed, but over-all we have to see how frequently the topic needs to be addressed. Security is currently covered in Networking and Software right now, but maybe you are on to something. Depends on the frequency of updates though, at least a living subject...

Personally I think its a good idea. I for one am very curious about security issues, as I work in an IT shop at a medical clinic. And we have to deal with all sorts of patient information, etc. And have to secure it and whatnot. But then again, I may be in the minority on this issue.
Hmm...maybe we should get rid of gadgets and gizmos and replace it with a security forum. It would have to get more traffic...

Most security-related issues would fit in perfectly in the Networks & Networking forum, and the forum's not so busy that it couldn't handle the extra traffic.
I think a Security/Internet Security forum would be a cool idea.
