According to EPoX there was one bad batch release of this board, where there were problem BIOS chips used.

This board seems to be one of the best KT266A boards, since it has performance equal to or better than the others, and overclocking features are really nice. (Although the max Vcore voltage of 1.85V is a bit disappointing.)

As for the problems, if I were me I'd just order one, if there are any problems, just RMA it and get a new one. I cannot believe that the problem is as wide spread as everyone makes out to be.

BTW If you want RAID features, wait for the 8KHA2, whenever EPoX releases that.

I've used Iwill, TMC and Abit and never have I had to tweak the bios so much to get everything loaded, even after a fresh format on a new HD. I have never had to disable the ACPI but I did to get the USB working. Now granted I'm a weekend/shadetree comp geek but damn.

Can't complain too much I have my XP1600 at 145fsb mem setting maxed out. I need to find out what is holding me back.

Built a system with this mobo, no problems. I went into the bios to tweak it up a bit and in less than a minute I was done (wow that was hard https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/6.gif). O/c'ed it pretty nicely to, it was for a client, a 1.47ghz @ 1.65 I believe it was (stock cooling as well, 40C full load, nice).

And I will be building two or three more systems with this mobo starting tomorrow so I'll report here or what not if I run into any problems.

Any idea for a date of this new BIOS. I am looking to consider this board in the near future so I don't want to wait too long.

I've already built up about four setups with 8KHA+ boards...haven't had a problem with one of them, except disabling ACPI, which I usually end up doing anyway.
