I really really want this card now.....can't wait till I dump this pos comp and build my own with a KII in the next month...
This is not a good review. The UT benches are way off. 40 fps for a Geforce2 Pro at 800x600 @ 16 bit??? HAHAHAH, I don't think so!
And the GTS still beats the Kyro2 in Quake3 in all resolutions and colour depths tested.
EDIT: Just read the review at PlanetHardware. This review seams to put the Kyro2 in a much better light. And looking at the Hardware Analysis review again, the Quake benches also seam to be FUBAR. The Geforce2 Pro certainly does not get 70.5 fps at 1600x1200x32 (unless maybe all the details are set low).
Man, this just pisses me off that there's so much discrepancy from one review to the next. It seams to be like this with a lot of products. I find that many of these smaller hardware sites simply don't have any credibility.

Man, can you not read!?!? First off the PlanetHardware review, didn't it catch your attention that the MSI Starforce 822 isn't a Geforce2 Pro? I mean..didn't it catch your eye that this card beat out the Geforce2 Ultra? Agreed , was to say the same think, so far...we talk herre about @ 100$ videocard who hae awesome potential !! also this card was not build to compete with the 350$ GF3...is just a nice 64 meg true 32 bit performance very playable FFAA with nice speed and all this for 100$....what you guys need more to accept that is a nice videocard ?Quote:

Yes. I'd take a Kyro 2 over a GTS or Radeon any day. What really impresses me is the fact that it's got a lower clock of only 175/175 w/ SDR memory, and it can beat a GeForce 2 Ultra using FSAA with very new drivers. And almost *no* speed loss moving from 16 bit to 32 bit, since everything is rendered internally at 32 bit.Quote:

If you compared a GF 2 to a Kyro using the drivers they both came out with...
Give me a Kyro 2 Ultra over a Geforce Ultra anyday.
Is hercules the only one that supports the K2 at the moment? In some cases it can't be overclocked, or at best, by 20 / 20.

Woah man, I see you're a little touchy. I was referring to the Hardware analysis review when I said the Geforce2 Pro does not get 70 fps at 1600x1200x32 not the Planethardware review - I guess you can't read. And yes, the Hardware analysis review DOES use a Geforce2 Pro, not a GF3. Take a gander..Quote:

I see now where I misread though. The maximum resolution they tested was 1280, whereas I assumed it was 1600. Still though the GTS and Pro clearly beat the Kyro2 in the link above.
And nowhere on THIS link does it say that it's testing minimum FPS:

Nowhere does it say it's testing for minimum framerate, but if you take a gander at the anandtech.com Unreal Tournament benchmarks you'll see that results for "lowest framerate" is in the ballpark compared to the hardware analysis review.
Ironic you blame these slightly more unknown review sites and making yourself seem like a Pro-well known review site viewer, yet you haven't a clue why a Geforce2 Pro gets 40fps in UT in the benchmark reviewed?
Anandtech.com displays how much of a difference minimum and "average" frame rates differ. Another victory for the 72fps vs 130fps arguement https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gif. Most times when framerate is discussed, we're talking about average and not minimum. UT went from 102fps to 63fps in 640x480. 102fps is more than the need 72fps for total smoothness but indeed 63fps is not total perfection for gaming speed.
