USB over network
Does any one know of a program that will allow me to use the USB devices of another computer over the network and make them appear and function as if they were plugged into that computer? I mean like a scanner, webcam and stuff like that, not a printer.

You couldn't use a generic program for that. It would have to be written specifically for the device you want to share.

Hi.
There are several solution: hardware USB servers (like digi and keyspan) and software:
USB over Network
-
That is pretty cool, I never seen that before.
-
USB Drives can be shared as any drive, other hardware would not.
The hardware solution that was mentioned costs few hundred $$.
The Software $100 or more.
Both are Not guaranteed to work with any USB that you through on it.
Given the price of of USB printers and scanners (or similar devices) it might be cheaper (and would work better) to buy more basic hardware for each computer or to buy Hardware that is Network capable.

My scanner works perfectly over LAN. Tomorow I'll try to share more specific USB-equipment using the Software.

You should be able to share HDs, scanners, printers ect.. No Problem. What are you really trying to do?
