NVIDIA based video card with FPS stuck below 60? I'll help you...

if you create a *.reg file with the following text in it....

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvTweak]
"CoolBits"=dword:00000003


under win98/me....

double click on it, this will enable you to disable V-Sync in D3D and OpenGL based applications via the advanced properties of display properties...

It will also enable the Over-Clocking tab in your display properties....

This should also increase the 3dMark2000 score if you've got a small monitor which does 60Hz at 1024x768 and a graphics card which is capable of 60+fps.

Just keep in mind that this only helps when you have an environment that is capable of over 60 frames per second. SO, if you have a Cirrus Logic 2MB ISA video card with your Pentium 166, I wouldn't worry too much about your Vertical Sync https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gif hehe

Yep, this also works in Windows 2000. Give it a whirl...

If you have Quake3 you can test this.

Start Quake3, set normal settings, and hit the tilde key, enter 'TimeDemo 1', then 'demo demo001', if you sit at 60fps, try my registry entry. However, the .reg file will be ever so slightly different (due to the version of RegEdit). So, you can manually edit the registry, but it's in the same place https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/5.gif

CoolBits ! I manually put the dword and it's value of 3 in the location you indicated. It did add the hardware options tab in the nvtweak and the extra options for vsync.

I have an STB Velocity 4400 (16mb) and I run the 6.31 dets for Windows 2000.
