CaTaLySt, what's with the childish behavior?

What's with the childish behavior? I'm talking about the post count and avatar. It's not funny as you claim. It's tasteless and shows you're immaturity. The avatar shows how you are conceited and think you are God but your throne will be overthrown someday. I even doubt your administration capabilities. You are not even remotely close to Internet.com headquarters or anything. Therefore, you can't do the things Housen was able to do when he was still around. Another fact, you are only 21. Some of your moderators are older than you. I think they are more able to do the job than you, since they are older, and have more experience than you. It's also pathetic to see so many members kissing his ***. He does not own you; you have an opinion on this board. Use it.

Just a question, are you going to lock this and ban me? If you do, it will just show how you can't take criticism like Housen did. That's what made him such a great admin. He didn't let opinions about him get in the way of his job. Too bad the same can't be said about you.

I am sorry if you do not care for the avatar, or the Post count, but A) I have clearly explained the reasoning behind the post count. B) The avatar is my personal choice, just as you selected yours.

I've held my position for 2 years now, and prior to this, I worked with HardwareCentral.com, before internet.com acquiring the MyDesktop Network. I have my position because of my experience, as well as how i conduct myself. I am truly sorry if you do not support some of the decisions made on this site, but like most things, they are done in the best interest of INT Media group. As far as age goes, that truly has very little impact upon anything, as i am a legal adult. I enjoy working with my team of Mods, and i think our great diversity is one of our greatest strengths.

With that said, I am also sorry if you did not support the OT forum being closed, and if that is the source of your anger, i am sorry.

If this is over the recent Banishment of Newbie-Overclocker or some other member, then i am sorry, but our Acceptable Use Policy is presented when you sign up for our site, it is linked to on every page of our forums, and *will* be enforced.

Is there a specific example where I have done this? If so, please post it, as it may have been closed in error, or it may have been closed for some other reason, which you may not know. I do not want you to feel as if you cannot criticize me, or my actions. If anything, I truly support that, which is one of the reasons I made this forum.

Rich, You participate at this site by your own free will. No one is forcing you to post here. Sharkys doesnt owe you or anyone any favors. INT Media group makes the rules so attacking Cat wont really get you anywhere. And if you've noticed the Admins and mods here are really good tempered folks who dont just ban people on a whim. Things are done for a reason and you might not appreciate those reasons but thats because you probably dont know all the facts. As for Cats avatar and post count I think it makes him seem more human and shows that he has a sense of humor and is not some God-like indiffrent Admin. And I dont have to kiss his *** cause I have my own forum and I know what its like to deal with people who disrupt the flow and ruin what is otherwise a great community.

I know some 21 year olds that are more mature and wise than people who are 20 or 30 years older than them. Don't judge people by their age, a lot can happen to someone in 21 years. Catalyst is a mod...he closes threads that violate the AUP and answers questions, it's called his job. His avatar and post count mean nothing.

But mistakes do happen and that is just part of life but to quote an earlier post "you are not forced to come here" so if your not happy then there is a simple solution......Leave

Well we are sharkyforums, but the forums are a loss of money for INT media. Sharkyextreme is what can make them some money and we have nothing to do with that.

Using the above logic, every customer of Seagate - a buyer of a disk drive is an employee of Seagate. Customers are what keep Seagate or any business/corporation alive.

What I'm trying to get across is the fact that sharkyforums may be a $$$ loss, but you get rid of the forums and the people that visit the site, and you've got nothing left to run on.

I think you were close but missed it by a hair; point I was making was that they don't consider us customers(or employees either) and what we wish for doesn't really mattter that much to them(ie they won't be bringing back OT forums because they don't care if we want them or not).

I'm sure they think having the forums is a headache because they have no control over the users of it except for the terms of service agreement(banning and moderating topics) and what forum topics they can have; but with 20,000 or so registered users(and the forums are basically the only reason to register) they can trim down and moderate heavily but I don't think they can afford to get rid of them or they risk losing their subscriber base(oops I forgot we are not customers even if we have to register to use it).

Personally with 20,000 users I think they should probably add a few more forums to keep it interesting(ie O/T or others).

go visit Internet.com and you'll see why they are not named "sharky". The corporation owns many, many, many websites, and sharky's just happens to be one of them. The company is neither good nor bad, it is an entity trying to gain an increasing life expectancy in a market where the competitors are drying up every day. Luckily, things are starting to pull together again for Dot com's.

There are two types of customers. You have the advertisers, which is where most of the funding comes in, and then you have the users who click the advertising links. The forums are run at a loss, but that is the case for most places.

when I am able to buy one at my local store for a couple bucks. Also he would probly charge me shipping too :rolleyes:

Anyways love the new forum and CaTaLyST has the right idea going on for it. As far as this post goes... some people just think they are cool beating up the cool guy.

I think CaT is a great admin for the site. He takes an active role and participates in discussions which I think is very important. The avat/count show that he has a sense of humor, which I commented on in the post referenced by Wurm (thanks). I don't see how this could possibly be a bad thing. You can say I'm brown nosing all you want but I'm just sharing my opinion. Some of you out there really need to lighten up, and if you have some horrible problem with someone just PM them. How did this get turned into a debate on profit/management anyway?

Well the point is that if you keep the old name you should also keep running the site the same way; otherwise what is the point?

It's good too see we are considered customers now though.
