Anyone seen scuttle or coca cola recently? i know kero chan is gone and TUN (if youre lurking under a different name.. gimme a PM) got the boot.. havent seen pattsle, krazie, [c] either...
sooo to stay on topic.. whats your favorite piece of computer hardware of all time that you have owned or own... for me its the diamond viper v770 ultra tnt2... playing CS for the first time at 50+ fps was bliss
TUN got booted? For what? And as for me - my fav. hardware piece is my burner - 24x10x40 sony burner - 1.5 years, 1500 CD's :)

Hmm that is hard...
I would say its my Asus P2B-S motherboard... That sucker cost me almost $300 when the board was newly released many years ago..
Also I would have to say my Sony G420s 19" Monitor.. The picture is just amazing :)

do u watch movies/dvds on it?
right now im using a 17" viewsonic a75f and an old 15" sony s100.
im thinking of getting rid of the 15" adding a high quality 19" (most likely a sony g-series or equivalent samsung).. either that or adding a 27" WEGA tv... the primary role is for big screen gaming and dvds. the 19" will have much better res.. but the WEGA is GREAT for movies (my parents have a 36" one back home).. but if the g4xx has exceptional quality... im willing to sacrifice the inches
I have seen scuttle, krazie, Tun and patssle in the last month, but not here...ocassionally Kero too.
Favorite piece of hardware is always the Case...its the four walls and roof for your electronics.
i haven't seen our resident sound guru gluegun for ages come to think of it.
my favourite all time would have to be my 3dfx voodoo 1. i remember how my jaw dropped when i saw the difference between my crappy 2d card and the voodoo 1. it was as clear as night and day.

I bought a 19" since I cannot stand 1280x1024 on a 17" monitor...
The only thing I do like is that Sony discontinued the G420 and G410 series...
It is a big difference over a 15" :) I dont know how I can ever go back to anything smaller then a 19"

I remember a scuttle post about two months ago, maybe longer.
Anyway, my Apple IIe -- 64kb of memory, woohoo. Even took the time to learn the assembler and wrote a dumb game and a budget manager. Had a weird screen handler as I recall, they folded it into about 19k as I recall.
when i was new here, gluegun and pattsle were everywhere...but yeah, now i never see 'em. though i dont go in the audio forum much...
favorite hardware...my free geforce2 gts. for obvious reasons.
probably my s3 savage 4...playing ut with s3tc textures enabled looked amazing and I could finally play tribes with good fps...
Yeah I used to see these guys posting every day a while ago, SF crowd has changed quite a bit I guess :confused:
I think my favorite piece was my Kyro II -- was the first real v/c after my Rage 128, I could actually play MOHAA and Q3 on it, ah what a blessing :)
hell ya, Kyro II cards rocked. That was my first real card after someone said "This rage 128pro will work great!!" GRRR, but I wish PowerVR was still around. There TBR was sweet and was very effictive, always using 100% of the memory bandwith the card had:)
canopus pure3d voodoo1 card. 6mb video mem. the most available at the time. watching my fps in the original jedi knight go from ~15 to ~40 almost gave me wood.

Vengance_01, I agree, the Kyro II was the best! Considering the price at the time, it really whooped some butt. I've still got the thing stored away somewhere, it died on me but I don't have the heart to throw it out :(

My favorite piece of hardware would have to be my free GF3. I got it free from Gateway after my GF2 GTS fan was starting to make weird noises. :cool:

Creative Labs Voodoo 2 with 8Megs. Cost me $279 Canadian and to this day was the most money I've ever spent on a videocard :)

I have too many favorite hardware to list, although I think I tend to have a bias towards video cards. My 3dfx Voodoo1 and Voodoo3 were great for me. I also love my 386DX, it was the first PC that I owned; I like it so much that I even upgraded that hotrod to 16MB of 30-pin SIMMs. I still load up "Battleship," "Beast," and Doom on that system now and then :).
I'd have to go with my Bh6 motherboard, that thing gave me a 70% OC at stock with a celery 300a.
A close second would be my old soundblaster 16 card. It lasted from 1994 to 2001 in five different rigs.
Voodoo 3 2000 PCI card, woot! First piece of hardware I ever installed in my crappy HP Pavilion with onboard video. It started the obsession :D
Has to be my 3dfx Voodoo2 1000 12MB PCI. That's gotta be my first good graphics card. I remember how much smoother it was playing Shogo MAD.
