I have succesfully completed the vdimm mod (thanks to mikead_99 for a clip small enough to do it) and these are my first results on 3.0V:
245FSB 2-2-2-5.

time to start adding more voltage! but first, i must affix the resistor so it doesn't dangle freely in my case, heh.

daaamn, I thought I was doin good to hit 3200 in sandra. What kind of ram cooling do you need for 3.5? whew....
nothing but a normal case fan ;)
The most important thing is a strong +3.3V PSU rail. I think xDUCK has modded his to give him more?

my goal is now 270 since that should let me do 270x9 for 3DMark (ran a test at 244x10 1:1 2-2-2-5 3.0v, 21.2k before nature, didn't bother finishing as that would only put me at about 24.3k max and i want more than that.)
Don't wanna worry you eshbach put I read on amdforums.com yesterday of a guy losing a stick of Mushkin Level II PC3500 while at 3.3 Vdimm. Maybe just unlucky I guess.

Btw (to adslegend) - the AN50R gets it's Vdimm from the 5v rail, so there's no 3.3v mod necessary. :)
Ahhh never knew that. Are there many other boards that do that?

Hrm, I'm havin trouble right now with my 512 sticks of ram, the Shuttle doesn't like DS ram :|. Think I should splurge and get me a couple of 256s (so I'd be running a 512 and 2x256 for 1gb)? I refuse to use less then 1gb, as this is an everyday rig more then a benching rig.
Or should I try the HyperX 3200 non A 2x512? :)
(A sudden influx of cash has made me wanna spend more)

just get 1x256 for benching purposes... i'm using a clip and an end... the end is for ground and goes under a screw, the clip goes to the pin on the resistor. both the clip and the end are soldered to a wire that is soldered to the resistor.Quote:

I just want both sticks of ram to be able to run at spec :| Right now I'm running 2110 cause thats the max the dimm will let me run.

well i killed it. board turns on but no post. tried everything... i'll have to get a new one (and no v-modding this one).

Can you try diff sticks of RAM? CPU probably harder to get your hands on but...
i tried different ram, i can try the CPU in another motherboard to make sure it still works correctly. i think it's the mobo though because vdimm light turns off after a failed post.
Well, cross this off my list of things to try ;)
