Ok, finally beat Knights of the Old Republic for the Dark Side, about to go back and be the good guy. Anyhow, it's really got me looking forward to the sequel... anyone else?

After Halo 2, it's probably my most anticipated game this holiday season.
dark side is a lot more fun than light side imho. and i'm eagerly waiting for the sequal also.
Dark Side is always more fun, it just feels sooo good to be evil ;)Quote:

What would i need to be able to run this game max details at say 1024x768? Would a GF4 ti4200 do it
Love playing a dark side charecter in KOTOR. Only game that portrays evil people as obnoxious a'holes. :P
Sheesh, perhaps I should give this game a whirl.
i was on my second planet and lost my save..... arrggg
I used to run it with a GF Ti 4200 and a 1900+, you'll be fine at 1024 with max details.Quote:

One thing about this game, even after patching, keep multiple saves.Quote:

I sure hope KOTOR 2 is more stable from the start.
The frequency of crashes on Tattooine with version 1.0 was unbelievable :(
its too hard to be evil!
^^^ Are you nuts? It's too hard to be Good.
Quote from Spaceballs: Dark Helmet- "Now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb."
quite true, in the end its always the bad that draws the boundaries and rules. :D (Loved that show.)Quote:

I recomend playing both side at the same time. I like to play male good guy and female dark character and switch between characters after I complete a planet. Female dark side is the best IMHO since you can slap around guys that hit on you.
I played the X-box Version first and beat it on light side and then i beat it on the dark side. Then I got it for PC and played it so much that i tried everything at least twice that game was addicting.when i heard that the second one was coming out i was like yes. so i hope its just as good or better than the first and from what i read it will be better. I got some mods for after i beat it 10 times and i got the Darth Revann Robes that was cool. and i got some other mods that give you different playable characters other than Humans. Hey Nightlord did you go all the way to the complete darkside where you are grey with yellow eyes.
My guy was so Evil even -I- was scared of him. I'm playing him as a good guy now and it sucks... I just feel so carebear and.. *cough* violated having to kiss everyone's ***. Yea, evil is much more fun in this game.
Oh, and I received the Revan Robes in-game. Is there a mod that gives them to you earlier? I remember finding the really nice robes in a cave that were restricted to Light-side (which I just left since I was evil).
Right now, I'm playing a Scout for the skill points till level 5. Then when I go Jedi I'll be a Guardian and concentrate my Force Powers on stuff that can be used with armor. I'm going to create a Light-saber wielding, Force casting Tank. Should be interesting.
P.S. Where is the best place to get Mods for this game?
Best and only palce to get mods

Just beat it on light and dark, gotta say I like the light side more.
The dark side isn't really dark it all, it's just being a pompous asshole.
**SPOILERS**
The only true redeeming quality for the dark side is if you join Bastilla on Ratakawhatever. Once you get back to the Ebon Hawk you have that conversation and Carth runs away. Then you can get down to the REAL evil by manipulating the life bond you share with Zaalbar plus some force persuasian to get him to murder Mission in cold blood. That was fun.
The rest of the dark side sucked and consisted of "Give me more credits!"
Plus Dark Side makes the game too easy.
Its better on Xbox though. I hate the PC controls.
My roommate is playing it right now, lol.
Sadly, there are no RPGs which really handle evil properly. Just one, I'd like to see one where being good takes the effort that it should- evil should supply more money AND more experience. It's easy in the real world to be evil or just not care. It's hard to actively do good. But RPGs (and CRPGs especially) assume that it's the other way around.
It should also make the evil side more likely to finish the game prematurely due to a shootout with the Jedi cops or ending up in prison for life and get the backdoor-pain ending.Quote:

Evil is a way to quick wealth and world experience, for sure. It's also a way to quick death and high stress.

that would be awesome, having to deal with authorities and such, I like the ideas you proposed. That was kinda missing from kotor. You could kill peeps and be incredibly evil, but no one would stop you.Quote:

That's pretty much how the Star Wars universe really is though.Quote:

Who stopped Vader's reign of terror? Was Luke really the first one who tried? Were there no other arrest or assassination attempts? He was an old man. The Dark Side in Star Wars is like Cuba or something, haha.

It wasn't Vader's reign of terror, it was Palpatine's.
Vader actually stopped the reign of terror, Luke was just a wuss bag overrated farmboy loser.
And that matters? Vader was around for like 50yrs or some jazz, whether it was his reign or not, he carried out the dirty work. He was Palpatine's Hitman. But what I said holds true. Where were the cops taking out Palpatine?Quote:

Stopping Palpatine after 50yrs is about the same as 50yrs of terror and then saying "oh I'm sorry I took out my boss, forgive me."
Star Wars is pretty Stalinist if I stop to think about it. Nobody does anything about the inhumanities that are taking place.
