My Dell 3007WFP arrived while I was at work today. Ordered it last Thursday, got it today.

The 3007 feels *MUCH* snappier in CSS. I immediately felt the difference and went 15-2 on cs_italy for the 15 minutes I played it for.

I have to admit, I lol'ed there at the bottom. Get a case!

As a side note, I can now run CSS @ 1280x800, 16X AF, 6X AA.

Awesome monitor......think I may just get one later on this year. My present monitor will be related to HTPC/2nd game rig together with my present rig. Gosh, gonna have to start from scratch.....and it's gonna cost an arm and a leg, but after seeing these pics, I think it worth it. One thing's holding me back though, and that's the native res of the Dell......only X-Fire/SLi rigs can do those insane numbers, I'd prefer to run a single card........shouldn't be a problem if dual core GPUs become the norm in the future.

groutyzoob, you're doin' 1280x800? That's exactly half of the native res of the 3007WFP, it still looks good coz there's no interpolation, right? I run games on my Benq 30" LCD TV/monitor @1280x768 (very close to yours in terms of res) and I'm very happy with the IQ, 'course my Ultra isn't a match for your X1800XL, so my eye candy's lower....still looks sweet though.

I'm only going to run native res in OLD games (if it supports), or desktop.

You are correct, 1280x800 looks great since it is 2:1. I just tried 1920x1200 and it looked fuzzy.

Gaming is actually FUN again. I don't need to push insane resolutions (1920x1200..ahem 2405FPW), and I don't need to upgrade my video card for the time being. Spent most of last night playing CSS. I can definately feel a difference in terms of input lag. The shadowy/dark areas in the game are difficult to see, and flash bangs hurt my REAL eyes. Soo much white. D:

Yep, that makes sense since present single cards can't do those insane res with eye-candy, even X-Fire/SLi would be a stretch I think. I've been pretty pleased with 1280x768 since I'd bought my Benq, most games at native res with 4xAA/8xAF.....except for FEAR. :( Even Q4's pretty good at this setting......I'm torn between getting the 3007WFP or a 37" LCD TV/monitor that does 1366x768. But since I ain't in a rush, I guess I'll mull over it. ;) 'Grats on the purchase of that awesome LCD. :D

Just break down and get a 45" LCD tv that does 1920 x 1080 with DVI inputs. :D

damn css looks great at that resolution! hmmmm how much was that 3007?? >=D

Much much cheaper than the Apple Cinema (it was discounted on top of the original price)

I just realized... if I buy this, it won't fit on my desk.

LOL, you're not helping me none..... :p :D I might just go for a 37" LCD TV/monitor that does 1366x768 ( I figure that with an R600/G80, doin' that res with eye candy should do the trick for me).....gonna cost about the same as the 3007 in my neck of the wood. As I've said, I've still some time so I'm gonna be thinkin' 'bout it. ;)

mikeysg: The 3007WFP is GREAT if you need the desktop work space. I found myself kind of limited when I was doing some AV editing on my old 17".. bumped up to 24" and still didn't have enough space to be comfortable. This 30" should do well.

klakalou: Yeah CSS is fun to play again, and my framerates only drop if I'm playing a crazy map (the new cs_militia comes to mind). I can probably drop the AA and get frame rates consistently above 60. $1599+tax = $1838.85 CAD.

Terry: Bahahahaha. You'd be able to fit it.. only it'd be offset from your keyboard/mouse.

Why is that? I play FPS games alot and I love my 2405, in fact I don't know how I ever gamed without it ;)

Try playing on a CRT (or 3007) after 2405.
If you are hardcore, maybe you'll see a difference.

(apparently, there is input lag on the 2405. As evident on the picture I took with the corners of the monitors, you can see the 3007 is ahead. Yes, I only got a corners because zoob's room is so friggin messy and the monitors are so friggin huge.)

I noticed this very slight lag/blur as well on my 2405 when making very quick mouse movements in CS Condition Zero. My laptop also has this slight lag/blur which perhaps could be considered "ghosting"?

It doesn't really bother me though but I can see how some people may find it distracting.
