the general consensus is if you have at least a e6600 and a 7800gt with 2 gigs memory, you can run the game at near max settings.

I'm kinda glad for this news. I played far Cry originally on an Athlon 2000+, 512Mb RAM and a Radeon 9000Pro. Even with everything turned down I still had a great time with it, but of course it would have been even beter had I been able to experience it right off as it was meant to be played. This delay gives me time to upgrade sometime this fall, without missing out. :)
