Minecraft 1.3(.1) comes out today with a ton of new features (but still no mounts, Taggart).

Here is the development list of changes. The "official" list will be posted soon once 1.3(.1) is actually released.



p.s. This is the first new official release in 4 months (last was 1.2.5 on April 4th).

You can ride a pig!

And starting in 1.3 you'll be able to buy saddles from villagers, making them (possibly?) not as rare as they used to be. Obviously that was an easier fix than just making them drop when you kill the pig. :p

But yeah, as someone who dies more then anyone else when I'm on, probably not a good idea to auto-ban on death.

Auto-ban on death is pretty hilarious, though.

I noticed today that my son has been playing minecraft on the PC. So, I look on the desktop and he's been playing a cracked version. I had a little chat with him about what 'cracked' means and piracy. So, went to minecraft's site, logged him in and purchased the game with my credit card and he slid me $28 cash to cover it. I made him pay for it :)

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how to get into servers now. Do you just google for them and add them in? Does he need to download mods, or are those server side? I'm finding that most servers say 'need to update'. Reading the posts here looks like today a new version was released..maybe that is the problem with finding active servers?
