I`m in neutral right now until I get my new MB, SLK-900U, Tornado 92mm fan and a tube of artic silver ceramic. I hope the artic silver ceramic is as good as they say it is. I am ordering all of this tuesday, I hate ordering anything right before a holiday. :DQuote:

depends how much the prometeia helps Xduck overclock both cpu and gpu. He hasnt been on for days now, hope he didnt fry something. As me, what about my 2nd place in the ti4200? Once Lonewolf gets serious on the cpu side, he should smash 15k since his godly ti4200 has serious ram bandwith. He does need 200+ fsb and 2.4+ GHz to smash 15k, however
Well, the good news is, I am #1 AMD. The bad news is, my third NF7-S is dead, and I'm sick of dealing with this horrible motherboard line. I'm returning it and getting a P4C800 along with either a 2.4C, 2.6C, or 2.8C. Then, and only then, will Sharky's see the true power of dual Prometeias. :)Quote:

For the record, I do have the #1 AMD spot, as can be seen here.
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6925972
However, it is (as you can see) only about 100 points above the current record holder. That is because this score was the only one published, and was only published because I wanted to embarass Alientank :) (as you may know, it is only a handful of points more than his P4 rig). It is a full 1k below what I was ultimately able to attain, but unfortunately was the only one I uploaded. In case you can't do the math :), my best score was 21,4xx. However, I cannot take credit for it, as it was never uploaded. :( This was attained with stock cooling on my 9800 Pro + a 120mm Panaflo (470/405). Perhaps if I had had the funds to get a coldplate machined or at least the time/money to make one, things might have turned out differently (as I wouldn't have experimented with even riskier forms of cooling). I am confident that, once I get my P4 setup, I will be able to get this thing up to 540/410 (with the Prometeia). I will be aiming for 23-24k, depending on which CPU I get and how well it overclocks.
So, for now - farewell (and don't forget to hail the new AMD leader, even though my best score was 1k more than what is listed ). On Monday I turn to the dark side.
Oh no, another one lost to the Dark Side! Intel? Pfffftt! Loser!!!:p *remembers that I have an Intel rig myself* Well, actually Intel/AMD are just dandy!!!;) :D BTW, notice the change of sig.:( oh well, it was a good run.:)
"my third NF7-S is dead, and I'm sick of dealing with this horrible motherboard line. I'm returning it"
How did it die? That could be why I dont like nf2 based mobos. You could try an 8rda or even a nice kt400 for lower fsb, like around 200 but much less likley to die. Yea I understand the intel side, amd cant touch the p4c's past 3GHz. Get the 2.8c, seeing the cooling you have, youd be fsb limited with the 2.4c anyway. with a 2.8c you might actually break 23k marks :D
There is no way I am sticking to AMD, since the NF7-S is the fastest AMD board, and I've had 3 die on me. This is getting both annoying and expensive. I think it would just be depressing to go to an Epox (and KT400/600 is out of the question), since I'd get less performance, and still be spending loads of cash.Quote:

Btw, with a 2.8C and dual prometeias (and my 9800p), there is no question that I'd break 23k... Now I just gotta find out how I'm going to get the $300 required for the P4 setup (and that's counting the money I'll get by selling the AMD stuff)... Not to mention I'll need another Prometeia CPU kit (I think).
INTEL POWER:D :D INTEL POWER:DQuote:

Indeed! Your score is 22.3k, and your vid card is clocked WAYYYY lower than mine was at 21.4k. I will SO kick vertices' *** when I get my setup... :DQuote:

You're gonna have to get in line buddy:D My pelts will be here in 10 days and i will be up and running within 2 weeks. With your prommies you will beat me for sure, but i still plan on being the first over 23K:D :DQuote:

If all goes ideally, I will have my P4 setup by Tuesday (ordering some other stuff for a client, I figure I'll get a discount if I buy so much stuff).Quote:

Bring it on:D Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr this is gonna be a fight. I am gonna buy a prommy myself when i get back to the states in November.
I am but a mare spectator in the great fight of 3dmarking. also keep in mind those godly ocs you guys do works for games.......not that it matters when you can run any res you want, use as much details as you want and take a long time to count those fps youd be spitting out at that  ok point being: Vertices has 3.98GHz, 500/390 for 22.6k Now Youd need at least his power to break 23k yourself. a 2.8c is your best bet, almost no 2.4c's go past 3.6GHz as thats already 300fsb and the 3.0c for some reason dont like being chilled. the 3.2c is the best, but way overpriced. This leaves the 2.8c as the most popular option then. Itll still be pretty hard to get much past 4GHz.
If you can pull 4.2GHz, 5:4 ram divider, 520/380 clocks, you stand a chance at 24k. Even Macci only has 4.06GHz on 290fsb and 570/420 for 26k, I dont see why you cant pull 24k or if you are truly blessed, be the first shark at the 25k club which is about(or less) a dozen members strong now
I agree with some of what you're saying. I won't need to hit the same numbers to break vertices mark. If I could get a full bench to run at a 275 fsb and 465/380 I would beat his mark. I am only a little over 300 marks behind. I gain over 300 marks for every 5 mhz i go up on the fsb. 10 more mhz on the VC core would also give me around 300 points. Vertices core is at 520 and that's a full 55 mhz higher on the core. With that much more VC muscle I will go over 23K easy. I would guess mid 23's. Now if I had my CPU at 4 Ghz I would have the potential to gain another 1200 points and would hit 24K. Ofcourse this is just all speculation using the results I have seen so far with this system.
Vertices does not have 500/390 for his 22.6k score. It's 520/375. I am only 1fps away from his nature score, and that's with over a 2k gap between our overall scores. With my Prometeia cooling my 9800, I think it's pretty realistic to say I will crush his video card. :DQuote:

As for CPU's That having been said... Macci got his 2.4C to 4.2Ghz. I realize that there is no way in hell I could replicate this (he handpicks all of his components, not to mention he cools then with dry ice), but 3.6 is not the absolute, arbitrary limit for 2.4C's.
Finally... You skipped over the 2.6C, which is probably the most likely candidate for what I'm getting. I think/hope/pray I will be able to break 24k with it.
If you listen to one thing I have to say, listen to this. DON'T GET THE 2.6C!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the worst of the 800 fsb chips for overclocking. Go either 2.4C or 2.8C and you will be much better off. Just make sure you shop around and find a good pack date and stick with the ones made in Malay.Quote:

2.4C it is. :)Quote:

Good Choice:D
"As for CPU's That having been said... Macci got his 2.4C to 4.2Ghz."
where? 3dmark reports his fsb to be 290 and his clocks to be 4.06GHz, thus he had a 2.8c, ok? as for Vertices, since he got his dream job, hes been a busy man and has not posted for a long time. I bet his 22.6k was with old drivers and a bunch of tweaks not done due to his low nature score. I recall him saying hes taking a break from 3dmark and expects someone to beat him soon enough but he will be back in a short while with a supprise :)
"but 3.6 is not the absolute, arbitrary limit for 2.4C's."
I doubt it, do you really think you can get past 300fsb? you are pushing the limits of ram and the motherboard as well. a 2.8c at even 4GHz would smoke a 2.4 at 3.6GHz. Well you can try a 2.4c and if it does not work out, you can sell it and probably make profit if its an ocing champ then get a 2.8c to try again :)
I'm still here.:) I try to keep up with the thread but just don't have time to post as often. I'm always lurking in the shadows.;)
14-16 hour work days have been keeping me really busy.
*comfort* no wonder haven't been seein you on wc3 lately.
Wow, hope you're getting paid well.. ;) :DQuote:

Well just hope your luck is good :) Some of the 2.4c are crap and wont even break 3Ghz :(Quote:

So hopefully you will get a good overclocker... The same is said for the 2.8c.. :) Some can easily hit 250FSB some cannot, While others blow right past 250Mhz :)
So hopefully you get a good chip otherwise you wont be breaking any records :)
Also you are going to need to vmod the NB, vmem on mobo, vmem on video card and vcore on video card to even get to 24k :) So good luck!
EDIT:
On a final note, I am retiring from benchmarking for a few months :( I have major dental work for my bad teeth... So its going to cost me a few grand to finish the work :( So maybe when that is all done and said with.. I will start up again...
