Are you running 2 sticks (2x256 Mb) and one of the sticks is in slot 3 (and probably in dual channel mode).

The reason I ask is I have not heard many problems with single channel mode. I can reach 225 fsb in s/c but hit a wall at 180 fsb in d/c. At 181 fsb I will get immediate errors in Prime95, even with a mult down at < 10 and with vcore at any setting.

Regardless, I would say move the stick around and try another slot, then try and o/c again.

Its 1 512mb stick in dimm slot 3. Theres a setting in the mobo for duel correct. Maybe its set there by accident

There is no setting to enable DC. You just need two sticks of ram in the correct DIMMs.

You're sorta right. But you can run 2 sticks in the same slots single channel. All you have to do is adjust the FSB and Memory to something other than 100% and you'll be in single channel.

And for those who've asked, sorry, nothing new. I emailed Mr. Hutton about 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything :(

there ya go, maybe I will. I have never put much stock in 3Dmark scores anyways, but I'm curious to see how it looks on this hardware. I usually rely on more intuitive benchmarks like super PI or COSBI.

I sucessfully did a voltage mod on my 8rda+. now cruising at 1.85V. When I get my R9700 back from rma, I'm gonna give 200fsb with my hyperx. If this works out, maybe you guys might want to try it to break 180-185fsb.

Should i sell it for some Twinmos with winbond ch-5 chips?

BTW might i need 2.9 vdimm to up this faster? Latly could a bios update work?

I mean im running at 11x180 but it just wont do 10x185. c1 error and all. I have c1 stetting with rev1.1 on my 8rda+

185x10 vcore 1.8 vdimm 2.77 no go timimings 6332,7332
Also this is 1 512mb stick of pc3000

Will i need vdd mod for other ram like twinmos?

I didn't want to open this thread again, but I think I earned it after reading every post for the last 11 pages.

has anyone had the HyperX problem with the 8RDA3+ boards? I had no problem at 200fsb with my 8RDA (non+). I was wanting to use the same ram (PC3000) for the 8RDA3+.

Thanks if anyone knows any info.

Sorry to bump the thread

I apologize for keeping this super long thread alive but I'm suffering here and I want to keep Epox sweating (if that's possible). I've got a problem with a single dimm of 512MB PC3000 Kingston HyperX 3000 and my Epox 8RDA+. I can't even achieve 170 MHz FSB (my MB won't post even though I got lots of room on the voltage and my temps are fine) and I want progress! Anyone got any new info on this problem? BTW Janko10, thanks for all the hard work on this one, from those of us who don't want to spend money to "fix" the problem.

If Abit can correct this Nforce2 problem with a Bios upgrade, then why can't Epox? So far I've been disappointed in them.

*correction, Abit fixed the Nforce2 problem, not Asus*

Unfortunately Roondog, I haven't heard anything from Epox in a while. It doesn't look like they're going to fix anything right now so the only thing we can hope for is some future bios update :(
