Bennsen84, has a sweet rig. mr_kholl is also nice.. [WP@]WOLVERINE is also an extreme MOD. These three are your competition, I think yours is the winner. Its extremly clean and down to earth.. Congrats and Good Luck Man..
For the next round, maybe you could replace the video card with this.... ;)

Awww James... now "why" did you go and do that to me....
daaaaamn..... ;)
that would ROCK!!!!
Yeah, those other guys have some sweet rigs, but my question is "Do they have enough CM components to continue?"
mr_kholl is in. Wolvie though... I have not reviewed his component sheet. He may have enough to make it to the final round, he may not (depending on his CoolerMAster component count). Bensen84 could make it too (again depending upon the component count), but the final round will require a full CM setup.
We'll see what happens!
I'm saddened to bring news that the master modsman, [WP@]WOLVERINE has dropped out of round 2 as he does not have enough CM products to compete, and cannot alter the Puzzlebox mod. He has modded CM product in the past, and is an absolute engraving master whos prowess is 2nd to none. Honestly... the engraving this guy does is nothing short of miraculous.Quote:

Ok, one of the final things getting done on Lupine, the front bay howler...
1st I got an image to the proper dimensiondm width wise, and then printed it out, taping it to the back of the acrylic that I wanted to cut.
http://home.comcast.net/~craig.tate/...y_acrylic1.jpg
Removed the paper, so that I only had the outline...
http://home.comcast.net/~craig.tate/...y_acrylic2.jpg
Then I started methodically cutting away material to whittle the acrylic down to the shape I wanted. 1st pass was done using a cut off wheel:

Next, I gave the flexi shaft a try using a multi-bit:

Here we see it taking shape...

Then I took the barrel drum sanding attachment and put it on the flexishaft, and ran it to my vice like so:

And, man o man... I wish I had figured that out a lod sooner in my life!!! That one step made the work SO much easier to manage!!! The shot below was taken after I had sanded both sides of the acrylic with an orbital sander using 160 grit paper.

Edit: you posted another entry since I started typing. lol
Nice case (The Terminator one). One thing I'm noticing, is that not many if any of the other mods have done the amount of cable cleanup that you have. I think that alone is worth a win. ;)
Off topic, I've taken your lead and I'm working on cleaning up my wiring mod. Hopefully you will see pics soon. Waiting on the new PSU. :)
Playing with paper...
I got to thinking... "All I need is something that will block the light from the acrylic... I dont "need" to cut the wolf out of metal for the front layer..." Then it hit me, "Use the posterboard dummy!!!" *headsmack*
So, using a smaller wolf as a template, I cut the profile out of posterboard:

Attached it to some scrap paper using low tack painters tape, and then used vinyl dye to make it black:
http://home.comcast.net/~craig.tate/...bay_paper2.jpg
Then attached it to the front of the acrylic:

HOOOWWWWWWLL!!

Back lighting testing, 1st with a white LED:
http://home.comcast.net/~craig.tate/...y_acrylic9.jpg
Then I was like... "How can I Make the LED purple? Not UV, but purple?" *ding* I had bought some purple cellophane as an experiment earlier in the mod... wrap the LED in 1 or 2 layers of the cellophane... see if htat gives the color I wanted...
Yep... sho'nuff did!

Thanks James... Let's hope the others see the effort as well.
Might not be as splashy as some of the other mods, but I firmly believe it is clean, organized and efficient. Add into that... *I* think it is a beautiful case! ;) But then, I'm kind of biased! ;)

First and formost, I want to thank my wife for putting up with my modding on this rig for the last few months. Even though it was hers, she still had to corral the kiddos and keep them out of the garage while I worked. This mod could not have been done witout her tireless assistance and understanding, thank you honey!
Next come persons that helped in some form or fashion.
Nick Deligaris - Artist extraordinaire

He was the inspirational picture that I used for the wolf spirit. His work is exceptional, and I can speak from a personal note, he is a gentleman and a scholar! Nick, thank you for the use of your image in my rig, I hope that I have put it to good use and kept your artistic impresson in tact! It is a beautiful work! As a matter of fact, I'd highly recommend that if you are into fantasy artwork, or even just a fan of beautiful pictures... go check out his site at http://www.deligaris.com Thanks again Nick.
Sheldog and Zapwizard - Acrylic wizadry
http://www.lizard-tree.com for having such an awesome product and a wilingness to help a Texan from all the way up in Canada! I appreciate your assistance and support, and I hope that maybe through some action of mine, that I can drive some business your way! You can count on the fact that I will be in touch again later! These things were so damn easy to use! And the effect was so nice.... Thanks again!
To all of the forum members from the various spots where I posted this log... you are all too many to list! Helping, suggesting, diagraming, or sometimes just dropping a supportive comment. It was very appreciated. I love doing these mods, and they succeed due to the interactions that I have with everyone in the forums. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
There will be some on going tweaking over the next month, during the CoolerMaster competition, to try and make this rig competitive to get me into the 3rd round, so expect a few visual tweaks to make this thing *pop*. Nothing drastic though... wolves are solitary creatures. They don't like the lime light... so that will influence the overall vision of this case.
Hehehee... it won't be a bling! ;)
Nice. Forgive the extra posts, but man, that looks nice.
Thanks bro!
Very nice and inspirational tech daddy.
Tech, it's people like you and mods like that which keep us ALL coming back for more. It's a giving place, you give us art, we give you support! Everyone wins.
I was wondering about wire management in general...I did some cable sleeving on my compy a year ago, and ran the cables behind the motherboard similarily to what you did without all that nice jazz. However, I use watercooling so I need to take out everything from the case every few months to change water and so forth. And i've found it's a HUGE pain to get cables back to how they were, and even to take it all apart. Once you modders do cable management in a case where you're gonna need basic maintance, do you find it annoying to redo as well? Or maybe I just get annoyed too easily...
Spry, thank you for the very kind remarks! I'm glad that my work is recieved in that light. I'm always a bit paranoid when it comes to posting up, always afraid that someone will think I'm looking or fishing for compliments... not the case (no pun intended!) at all. Just trying to gain inspiration from those around me, as well as inspire others to experiment and mod!
On to your question:
Well, I actually set this mod up so that if the PS ever failed or needed replacing, it would be a matter of disconnecting my custom cables from the power supply cables. Custom cables stay in place, and the lines on the PS can be removed.
Now... that said, I *dont* want to remove the PS due to the large ammount of ghetto cable management that is happening on the back side of that motherboard tray! It ain't pretty! ;)
Undoing all of that work is not high on my list of things "to do"! ;)
If necessary though, I could pull the PS out, and the only thing that would come out of the computer is the PS and the attached lines and the looming work that I did to the top next to the PS.
On lupine... maintainence is a PITA!!! due to the crushed velvet catching dust... ugh...
I hope this answers your question.
