:D I'm gonna be slowly creeping into the 70's rating wise, pretty good for just one system running.;)

He/She is trying to tax exempt his folding rigs... What an idiot!
I hope his tax returns get a red flag and audited!
I've heard of others doing this as well. At Overclockers some have been getting folding tax exempt, http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.p...&highlight=taxQuote:

But that is different.. Like the guy who deducts based on his work.. I deduct my upgrades and software purchases through my CPA..Quote:

But if that rig has nothing else to do besides folding... It does not count :)
Part of the problem is its not a livelyhood.. And stanford is not a Non Profit Org :)
You are giving them your processor to process each WU... Its not the same as a donation... You would have to GIVE them your machine to be considered a donation.
I be Orange :)
I be red!
That sounds wrong, like pinko commie fa..... or something....
Still have 10.8 GHz in reserve, but I think I wont fold with my lap top anymore. It gets too hot to hold when folding. I seem to have found a work around for the 3000xp systems. Three of them up for almost two weeks now.
what's up with these servers? i've been down for the last like 5 hours cuz i can't get a new wu.:(
Well, I've another system added to Folding. Finally finished my son's upgrade and my Server's upgrade. So, unless he accidently turns off Folding, we'll have about 3.4mhz of AMD CPUs, and 3.0mhz of Intel CPU folding, total 6.4mhz. And the F@H server must be up I just downloaded a WU about 1/2 hr ago.
IMHO (being licensed in CA as a CPA) none of the items mentioned are proper deductions as charitable contributions, regardless of the status of the donee.
Consult IRS publication 526 for details -- particularly the section that states that the right to use personal property (i.e. running F@H on your computer) is the gift of a partial interest in property that is NOT deductible.
Hey, has anyone heard from Sap's? I haven't seen a post from him in a while.
Well, we finally made it to 65 and will be at 64 soon, before another, long step up.
That, and Mystif's milestones page hasn't been updated for a looong time (before xmas?).Quote:

I don`t know, I was going to say because they were out Of WU`s but seeing as some of them do have WU`s there goes that theory. :(Quote:

i finally got a new wu...now..my sse isn't working, i just updated to the version 4.00 final, and added the -advmethods -forceSSE like usual, and it didn't work. It's a gromacs core too, so i don't know what's up. How do i fix this?
Did you also put the tags in the one in startup. Also what number is it, I am running 4.0 and I have not had a problem with it not boosting SSE.Quote:

Thermo, I tilt my hat to you good sir. Way to go! :D
Well, I had a gromacs 914, that said it could not continue after it had only done 46% of the WU and I got 13. something points for the work I had done, but seeing as I have done 7 of these before this one and had run 51 WU`s straight in a row with no problem. I`m starting to think it has more to do with it being a bad WU instead of anything else.
