I don't think that you can change team number in console version though until done.
when I get my server up and running 24/7 then I will be able to bring a 2.25Ghz T-bred (PLEASE be stable at that speed) to the mix. Hopefully withing a week or 2 I can :)
I have seen much difference on the progress Im making at home and at the office.. and the only difference is 400 Mhz in Processor..
In the office, started put with a 400 pts unit... and it slowly has been advancded since last Monday.. 1 at a time.. using the -advmethods thingie... You can say it has been working around 70 hours.. in 8 days... and still hasnt finished.
Now, at home.. with a 500 pts unit, it advances by 5 at a time.. and it has been working like.. 25 hours.. and its already at half the work done...
Can 400 Mhz difference make such a gap in perfomance?? At work I mainly use Excel... so the processor is not taking that big of a hit.
The big difference is in the type of WU: 400 (Tinkers) will be slower than 500 or 2500 (Gromacs)Quote:

also, what kind of processors do you have it running on? if it's AMD, you need to add the -forceasm flag (for the 3.24 & 3.25 clients) or the -forceSSE flag (for 4.0 prerelease client). if it's intel you don't need to do this, but for AMD it will boost your speed considerably.

So I joined the folding team last night and completed the first assignment. I just started a new one and I don't know if I can add the team number and change my user name. Please advise.
I think you can change your name and team at anytime.
If the WU you have finished shows up here http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/teampage?q=34149 it takes around a hour to show up here, don`t change anything. Also go here http://www.sharkyforums.com/showthre...hreadid=214078 it will answer a lot of your questions.Quote:

Yeah, if you run the GUI version you can go to configuration and change name and team to 34149 anytime before the WU is finished. Don't know about the console or screensaver versions though.Quote:

I followed the link and downloaded the beta version. Is there a speed bonus in using the beta with -forceSSE instead of the normal with -forceasm?
