Apparently he (Rosenhaus) went on Best Damn Sports Show and stated that he advised his client (Briggs) to refuse to play for Chicago this year despite being tagged. So they are trying to force a trade or release.
Briggs is a good player and does deserve a raise imo, but they will be looking for a huge payday and Briggs hasn't proven to be 'the man' when not lined up next to Urlacher.
Hmmm, thats true about Urlacher... Hadn't thought about that, but I have heard some sports guys say they think Briggs is better, guess we'll find out if he gets his trade.Quote:

Hell, you guys should try to get him. He'll be wanting a 'leadership role' and ~7.5M per year, but he's a playmaker. Seems like a good way for Millen to make a splash, anyway. DC or SF will probably end up throwing the money at him.

That's a big surprise to me, I expected them to trade him. Rocky career or not, a young QB with that much experience would have some decent value in a trade.
Its his contract. They can't trade him with that kind of a deal still in place.
Now I dont feel so bad for only getting a 5th rounder for Harrington :p
I have some hope for next season. The Raiders hired a young coach. They reassigned a ton of older coaches, including Slater and even Blitenikof who has been there since the 80's I think. So there are some big changes. Except for Sapp, the D is young and signed. Sapp still is ok. Reassigning the Tackles will help. Gallery might make a good right tackle or a guard. With the 1st draft pick, will they go for Russel or trade down and get Brady or someone else? I'm not sure, but one thing is for sure, they are not going to be as bad as last year. It is sad to see the Raiders play so bad. Hopefully, those days are gone.

Its strange how I love the Raiders doing so terribble, but then again I want them to do better so when the Broncos kill them I am more satistfied. Its not very satisfying when you beat a 1-12 team even though we are huge rivals.
Sapp needs to come back to Tampa before he retires, because he is a Buc first, and had his best years here. I'm not saying we should play him, but we should sign him, then retire him here properly.Quote:
