I agree, although I would like to see Walters get more reps and see what he can do. If they sign Russel, will they keep 4 QB's? Call up Arthur Blank and offer Russel for nexts years #1 and #2 2009 draft pick. Russel is not ready for prime time yet is what I have heard.

That being said... I remember even Barry Sanders (maybe the most elusive RB ever) getting rawked from time to time...
Culpeppers stats were supposed to be even better than the stat sheet indicated...
He threw like eight passes with like 5 completeions and apparently had Porter have two bounce off his hands and had another one caught just out of bounds or sumthin.
And from what I saw on the highlights... his scrambling looked to be getting back into form.
I know that it's just the preseason... but I think that Miami gave up on him too quickly.

I think that at this point... Culpepper is the most proven commodity. If he's back from his injury... and it looks like that he is... I'd have to go with him.
Now Walter... he can have looked awesome... but he is an inproven commodity. I understand that the Raider brass is very high on him... and that's good. But I think that rather than taking this unproven commodity and throwing him to the wolves in the regular season.
He may very well be the future... but grooming him (instead of throwing him to the wolves and destroying his confidence) and letting him learn for 1 or maybe even two more seasons may be the right decision to make.
I've never been an advocate of having a QB start in the NFL before they are ready... I think that too many prospective QBs in the NFL have had their confidence destroyed when they may have ended up working out under better circumstances.
And Culpepper's mobility (which looks like it is recovering) and sheer size may be a nessessity with the Raiders line this year.

I will most definitely be dropping a kicker and a defense,a spot is just too valuable to have filled with an extra kicker and defense.
I won the championship in the 2 leagues I played in last year and a big reason was playing the waiver wire, grabbed colston...also I played a new kicker and defense every week, I would just drop a top notch defense if I didn't like their matchup against a high flying offense and would grab another defense....would choose kickers on teams that struggled in the red zone, cardinals come to mind.... those kickers would get the most work, so matchup an offense v.s a defense, if you think the defense is real good and that offense will struggle = good kicker points
I did this in both leagues and won, takes a lot of time with comparing stats etc but thats what is fun, finding a matchup, banking on it and then cashing in.
edit: also I have seen this too many times...
if you got say steve smith and the panthers are playing the giants, don't play the giants defense! if he scores as you hope then your defense just lost 6 points....doh!
Good call on Josh Brown. He's better than any of those guys back east. He'll put up more points than lots of RB's.:pQuote:
