When I get a chance, I'll give a 2.0GHz Willy and a 2.4C some of that folding love.
BTW - where's our leader gotten to? Folding nappies instead of Protiens, that traitor :)

How are these for for some dumb questions?
Why don't they just increase the points awarded for a Tinker to equalize it with the Gromacs? I understand that they benchmark all the WUs on an older machine without many code optimizations, why don't they update the bench machine to better represent the folding population?
they are actually supposed to be changing up all of the scoring for the tinkers. i expected them to have done it by now, guess not. they are supposed to be changing it atleast. (and not a dumb question at all, really)Quote:

Currently my 2.66B is working on 259 which is a 70.77 Gromac with average frame time of 14 minutes. My 2.4B is working on a 70.90 638 Tinker with 7 minute frames. However, the Gromac is 100 frames and the Tinker is 400.Quote:

I think the tinkers are not benched by F@H, being from a different group.
Folding seems to be one of the few things the Willy's are good at. My 2.0 Willy folds almost as well as my 2.0 Woody. The Willy has PC800 while the Northwood has Reg. PC2100, but memory is not said to make a differance.Quote:

my folding pruduction will from here on out be cut drastically...did a little wattage measuring with an external tester, and my 4 systems are consuming far too much juice for me to keep running 24/7...i will keep my main system folding 24/7, but my others will become part timers :(
Gromacs and Tinkers are all that I have been getting for a month. I upgraded to 4.0 just to try something to stay away from the Tinkers - with only one system folding I have had 4 zero point days out of the last 14. For a day or so after going to 4.0 all I have gotten is 33 point Gromacs but the time frames are about 2 minutes longer than the other 33 point units. Tinkers should be worth about 150-200 points.:)
hmm so this is what it feels like to be in the top 10. Weird I thought i would feel different.
woohoo
Fold on!
Congrats XJ... Fold On! http://www.stupid-boy.com/smilies/up...groupflip2.gif
yes, congrats, XJ  :)

Well Looks like I will be adding a Moblie 2500 to my W/Cing soon on monday, moving my 2400Moblie on air(Still should be able to hit 2500MHZ, only need 1.85volts) and I have duron 2.0GHZ at a client producing 30 points a day, and my centrino laptop. But do not expect any more than what coming up b/c I just don't have the money.

:( today was not a good day i guess. I personally had a high, but our team fell off a cliff.
Yeah things are kinda slowing down. Don't know what the deal is doesnt seem like there hitting us hard with tinkers anymore.Quote:

It's kind of sad. We were doing so well and now we are just slowing down and decreasing. I don't like it when I get onto EOC stats and see our production dropping...we should atleast keep it level guys!!! Oh well, at least we STILL don't have anyone one our threats list! :DQuote:

Those pesky Chi-town gamers are right behind us, though. If we slip much more, they'll zip right past us.
I am getting hammered by tinkers
I just joined the effort.;) I got my main rig folding when I'm not playing games. I also got my old rig folding full time.
Thanks! Great to have another Folder in the fold (pun intended) :DQuote:

Just got a few questions. Is it ok to have 2 pc's folding using the same user name? how long does it take to complete a work unit?
1) It is just fine to have multiple computers folding under the same name.Quote:

2) Time to complete a WU varies widely, even on a single CPU. Could be anywhere from a few hours to a few days per WU. In most cases, you get points proportional to the "difficulty" of the work unit.
Ok one more. Can I pause without loosing the work that it has done?
Yes, the F@H software does checkpoints along the way.Quote:
