Better ram on the way, 18K will be mine.
Make sure to use the driver version 40.41.
Go to "PowerUser" and then to Global (in RivaTuner) now change the LOD Bias setting in there to a different setting (this will make the "LODBiasRange" registry entry.)
Go to "Start" then go to "Run" and type "RegEdit"
highlight "My computer" and do a search for "LODbiasRange"
Once you've found it, right click on it and go to "Modify"
In hexidecimal change the value to 15 instead of 3.
Now for RivaTuner and driver tweaking:
(in RivaTuner's d3d settings)
User mipmaps - enabled
LOD bias to +15
Depth Buffering - uncheck W-buffer
Vsync - always off
Textures - degree of aniostropy - force level 0 (Off, use nearest point)
In your driver settings: Compatibility - Texel origin adjustment - 7
Uncheck anti-aliasing, as well.
Now, for your bios optimization, I need to know how many pci cards you're using for pci latency adjustments. As a rule of the thumb, 1 pci card you should be able to max it out at 255 with, for 2, I'd try 225, 3 I'd try 150, 4+ should be 100 or 75. Make sure you're running your RAM's latency's at the lowest timings you can.
My ti4600 also liked 128MB of an agp aperature size, regardless of how much RAM was in the system, 256MB only decreased my overall performance. As for the video caching, UC ran faster for me than USWC.
Make sure you have all usb devices disabled (there should be an option for this) and turn ide bus mastering off. Make sure to turn all onboard components off, too.
If turning all usb devices off means no keyboard/mouse, just pick up some usb to ps2 adapters at a local store, they should only be a couple of bucks.
Good luck and let me know your results. Remember, when OCing in RivaTuner to use Low Level overclocking and not driver-level.
Make sure you have you run 3DMark after a fresh reboot.
Keep the icons in your toolbar and desktop minimal and disable your wallpaper.
Make sure there's nothing open in your toolbar when 3DMarking, as well.
Also, running 3DMark in 3 different sects will help your score. Run it with car/dragon/matrix all in the same lump then run nature in another run. After this, you can back down your OC's and run the theoretical tests."
That's a copy and paste I've been sending people. For ATi cards, 256MB of an agp aperature size may give you better results (8500's) or 32MB (9700's), just the same USWC has proven better for them than UC. I'll have more detailed info on 9700's in a couple days once I get mine and get to lay into it.
Enjoy.
Nice ROMark!
Well Seeing i followed those tips and came just 3 points short of 122xx .. i'll Bench again. THis Time i'll also use the second last paragraph's instructions ;).
Then Late this Month , i'll OC my Ram And CPU .. hopefully will touch 124xx or 125xx hell maybe even 126xx ..
One thing is for sure my Card wont bench at anything higher then 307  and as for the mem this baby is 665 and going
And wht is the best ratio for mem .. i have two choices in my bios :-
1:1 and 4:5 .. which is is default ? and which is the best?
Spawn.
1:1's sync and 4:5 would be faster.
I noticed that the Top10 has not been updated?
I think I'll still be in 5th place since SOMEONE got 153xx and pushed me back :p

Maybe, I'm installing my 9700 pro in a few minutes. :D
didn't you just get a GeForce 4 Ti 4600? lol, good luck with your 9700 pro.Quote:

I have the 9700 pro installed, but I think I'm having driver conflicts. I think reformatting is in order. I'll reformat tomorrow and post my results.
For some reason I can't even post at 150fsb anymore with this card. I'm thinking (and hoping) it's a driver conflict. It refused to run 3D Mark at defaults, too. So...
      old news? lolQuote:

It seems it just doesn't like the 4:6 divider for some reason. I can do 160fsb fine with the 4:5 but if I try and use my 4:6 at anything but 133 it won't even POST. Hrmm...
Anyway, here's my score at 160 with my 4:5 divider. I haven't touched the driver options or OC'd the vga at all yet.

was it really worth the extra money? I mean, only a hundred point increase.
I couldn't tell you yet. I need to get it stable at the same OC as my other and then start OCing and tweaking the videocard. My ti4600 OC was at 2.63GHz with DDR465, which scored higher than what I'm on right now, 2.72GHz with DDR400.Quote:

Oh, ok, tell me when you are done ;) hope it was (do they accept returns for instances like these if it doesn't satisfy you?)
They'd better. :p
I'll try the reformat first though.
Looks like standards are dropping around here. What happened to the days of having to run ALL the test before its considered a real and stable overclock. Guess it doesnt matter much huh. And ROM or whoever you are 14700...Wow I would have thought that you would have gotten much more out of that card. I was going to pick one up to make a run at the top score...but I just cant bring myself to buy one. Im gonna wait for the NV30 and be happy with the fact that I have the highest ti4600 score. I hope you eventually get something out of that RADEON LOL....I know a couple hundred points sure would piss me off.
