Just got the achievement to punch Diablo. Lol.
Pfffft. Level 60 cap what kind of crap is that?
Just got to Act IV and now at Lvl 30... wow... their pace setting is very well done... and the scale and the scope of Act III was top notch in my opinion...
still on normal (lvl 18 monk) and i was pretty much mowing down everything with ease till i got to Belial..... thinking i should hit up the AH now (have dual knuckles which combine for about 70 DPS)
If your dual-wielding make sure the DPS of the weapons are similar. Sometimes it's more DPS to just sword and board vs dual-wield. Off-hand is mainly a stat stick, which is why most people go sword and board in inferno. The block% and extra armor adds survivability without losing much DPS.
Same goes with any class, including demon hunters with hand-crossbows vs. bow + quiver.
Yeah, it's funny how they changed the camera perspective / level design particularly towards the end of Act IV and at some boss fights to give the feeling of epicness. It's like they saved it to make it feel like you're storming in to kick *** and chew bubble gum.
Monk has awesome survivability. :D
I've got some solid dodge rating and armor that helps a lot, but my build right now also includes a HoT, an AoE burst heal (which is why you'll see me stand right on top of your character if you're in trouble) and a shield which protects me from all damage and status ailments. That gas cloud ain't no thang!
I strongly believe this to only be true if you are two of the following things:
A. A Monk.
B. A Barbarian.
C. Heavily kitted out thanks to the AH.
I'm almost through Act 3 on Nightmare and there are definitely big bad scary champ mobs out there that kill me if I'm not careful and regularly kill my squishier friends.
I die all the time. It's just part of being a Demon Hunter lol.
I never said there was anything wrong with using the AH. I am only using it to sell right now and when I hit Inferno, I'm sure I'll be using it to buy as well. I was using it for gems previously since it is so insanely cost-ineffective to combine gems, but since the commodity auctions have been down for over a week, I haven't been buying anything.
100% false - it's incredibly easy to die anywhere past act 1 in hell difficulty if you aren't ready to run into a seriously bad-*** group of champions. I was coasting the game with my wizard using diamond skin and doing ridiculous damage, but once I hit that point, certain champion groups starting blowing right through diamond skin in less than a second.
As a point of reference - a barb in my group that rarely ever died prior to hell difficulty is now getting whacked an average of 2 times an act. And he has something like 50k life and pretty good defense. Granted, on anything other than those mobs, he seems pretty much invulnerable.
Me personally... I play a ridiculously offensive style with my wizard that will probably see me dying 50 times an act in Inferno. But with tons of life and almost 40k DPS, I haven't really had to slow down yet. :D
