not really though, when shananigans called the timeout on the raiders it was a split second before the snap, they showed a picture in picture replay where it showed him calling timeout and doing the "T" sign with his hands an eyeblink before the snap....on purpose of course, hell he would have been the first one to the QB if he played on the defensive line! talk about anticipating the snap.

kiffin called it 2 seconds before the snap and whistles blew all over the place, then the snap and dawson just lazily kicked it as a practice kick... he knew timeout was called well before he went into the kick, it was obvious.

Has anyone noticed that moss and then owens won the sunday night player of the game. Or at least the bus photo, whatever they call it. Retreads doing well.

I wasn't sure that Owen's best years weren't behind him... but I thought that Moss had some good football left in him.

Both are doing well... and it was a nice surprise to hear Owen's be well spoken and be praising his teamates and the other team.

I'm just pleased the Lions put up 21 points. Kitna is a hoss.

That's the thing with Moss and Owen putting up numbers and getting all the attention-they're happy. But if they weren't, it would be the same old thing with these guys. About Moss, he gave up on the Raiders and didn't put any effort in and blamed his teammates. Owen at least put in effort even when things weren't going his way.

Yea... insane that they still lose a game with those numbers... And all that with Kitna getting sacked NINE times.

Detroit is like the chargers of the 70's and air correal. All offense and no defense.

Well, the Lions do have weapons on offense, but the key driver behind all those yards was them getting behind, and getting behind quickly. You don't pass that much when you're winning a game.

True.

But getting that many yards when the other team expects you to pass is still impressive. Those are still some pretty gaudy numbers... still. The complettion percentage was impressive considering the circumstances as well.

Detroit lit up Philly through the air by the looks of it. Roy Williams had a monster game. But it looks like they had no running game, and no defense.

McNabb had a monster game as well... but before anyone gets too excited... it was against Detroit. Not exactly one of the better defenses in the league.

Robert Gallery is now a guard. This may end up being the best position for him. I think that thus far... he has done well this season. I also think that he would have done well at RT.

Funny to see Joey Harrington have a good game as well.

And three games into the season, Eli Manning has his best stats to date... without Tiki Barber and a defense that hasn't looked great to date.

I think the Eagles having 2 pro Bowl defensive backs out against a team that has 4 extremely talented receivers was a big factor in Kitna putting up all those yards in the air. When I saw that both Dawkins and Sheppard where out I honestly thought we were gonna lose the game. The defensive line is what really won the game for us.
Also, the fact we ran the ball and Mcnabb threw it down the field instead of just dumping every pass to Westbrook in the flat helped. I also liked the fact we set up some screen plays, over the last few years we have been one of the best screen teams in the league, but we have gotten away from it.
The amazing thing about Mcnabbs game is out of the 5 incomplete passes he had on the day, he threw 3 away on purpose to avoid sacks, and the other 2 were drops. It really was a perfect day. I know Detroits D sucks, but frankly in all 3 games we had this year we have had a lot of open receivers to throw to, but he has been missing them with bad throws. If he is over that, we should score a lot of points this year. I still think the key is not to get away from running the ball, not only with Westbrook, but having Buckhalter and Hunt sharing the load. All are capable running backs and should get carries to take some pressure off Mcnabb.
Westbrook is a beast. He is running so quick, and seems to run with more power every year.
The Eagles D has been playing very good. Detroit can throw on anyone and have some success, and again losing 2 top flight DB's is going to hurt any pass defense.

And about Eli's stats, I think a QBs stats improve when there defense sucks. Teams throw more when they are behind. Its ironic that the only game they won is the game he seemed to revert back to the old Eli, a few he just chucked up for grabs with his famous Eli Manning fade away jump lob.

I think Jacobs being injured is a blessing in disguise for the Giants. Ward is a much more complete back.

We pass no matter what. Im serious. No running game here. First Lions game I've turned off before it was over in a long time. Ugh.

I am also surprised at Owens new maturity. I would want him as a Raider. He blokes and is very physical. I'm sad that Moss didn't work out as a raider. But he was fun in madden 07. :)

I wasn't sure if Detroit was going to win with those guys out... but I did think that their chances went up exponentially. And I'm sure that it contributed to them having a good day throwing against the Eagles. I can't help but wonder how many Kitna would have thrown for had they been able to keep the pressure off him better.

I agree that the Eagles are one of the better screen teams in the league. But I don't think that thery have gotten away from it... the Eagles games that I've seen have had them throwing what I percieve to be more screens than anyone else.

I agree.

I have always had the utmost respect for the Eagles D. And I love the way that Jimmy Johnson calls blitzes. I wish he was D coordinator for one of my teams. Funny thing is... that most people consider blitzing a risk. But I don't see Philly get burned much calling so many.

Well, that's a double edged sword. When the opposing D KNOWS that he's going to throw, that plays into their hands as well... ignoring the run.

But the simple fact of the matter is that Eli's stats are pretty good... without Tiki Barber and tremendous help from the running game. At least thus far into the season. Think of how much better his last game would have been had Plexico Burress not dropped those easy balls...

But I can't ever recall him ever praising another D so much... he must have a PR guy telling him what to say in interviews.

haha, eli is doing well and you start bashing him again. Eli's stats are better because the D sucks? Cmon.......I have news for you, the giants D has sucked the past 2 seasons as well.

What's ironic is that the giants won the game when the defense didn't give up 40 points, the skins scored 0 points in the second half.

As for the old eli manning, I don't know if you watched the game, the only time he chucked it up was his second int when he threw it to sean taylor. It's not like he was sitting in the pocket either, he was pressured and made a bad decision. That's the only time, otherwise his passes were on point, a few hit plax in the hands and were dropped that game as well.

Ward has really stepped it up, it's good that he got a chance to show his ability. Having him and a healthy jacobs will be very nice. Jacobs wasn't doing bad before he went down, he had something like a 4.2 ypc and it was only the first half.

Saw today that Deuce McAllister tore his ACL... AGAIN!

Wow... that sucks for him.

They have not been running true screen plays as much for a while...they do throw a lot of flares to Westbrook in the flat, but not with linemen pulling...not as much as they used to. I actually think Mcnabb dumped way to many off to him in the Green Bay game, not screen plays but just little outlet passes. He seemed hesitant to throw the ball downfield, and guys were open. Rust, nervousness, who knows. He certainly threw the ball down the field last week though lol, he must be over whatever it was.

Giants...I think they should win it, but who the heck knows anymore lol. The Giants pass D is pretty poor though, and Westbrook absolutely kills them every time. I do know if they pressure manning like they did Kitna, it will be a massacre.

I can remember one or two seasons where Deuce wasn't hurt. I remember when Aaron Stecker was a big fantasy pick up because Deuce went out for the year.

If "dumb Andy" gameplans to abandon the run again, they will probably lose. If "smart Andy" can stick to running the ball, the Eagles should win. It's tough to cheer for a team with a bipolar coach.

Deuce came intio the league the same time as Tomlinson I think. Deuce was pretty much an immediate hit and had a few good years I think. More than just "one or two good seasons" if I remember correctly.

Of course, his first ACL injury put one full season away... and now this one will do the same.

Lots of people lose a season from an ACL tear... I just feel bad for this guy because two happened in fairly quick succession.
