A guy in a notoriously injury prone position, a position with the shortest average career out of any position in football, the centerpiece of the offense and only RB on the roster of note, gets hurt? Shocking...

Hasselbeck got hurt, too. I guess the "curse" is starting to spread to teammates?

Not shocking, but he played that position for years without injury prior to the cover appearance. Just saying.;)

I can understand both sides of the argument. It's just that I think your side is stupid. :D

Seriously, though, if there was any kind of consistency between curses, I might find it more believable, but like I said, there's too much variation for me. Some had terrible seasons, some had just bad or average, and at least Hearst had a GREAT overall season. Some were hit early in the season, some late, one had a delay of a season. Some rebounded to have better seasons later, others didn't.

I don't think he lasts till #4 since he is the best player in the draft by all accounts.

Raiders - Russell
Lions - Quinn or Johnson
Browns - whoever is left of the above 2

lions would be smart to take johnson, him and williams would be crazy...if they got a QB somewhere.

he had 3 torn ligaments in his knee and had surgery in nov, he's taking a long time to heal - he's not carson palmer, so thats the reason apparently

The way that Vince Young plays I can almost gaurantee that he will get injured next season no matter if hes on the cover or not. Curses are a bunch of bull just to get us talking about Madden and football and SI anyways.

QFT. That was my point earlier, with all the RBs and running QBs that have been on the cover in the past. Here we have a second year player, due for his sophomore slump anyway, AND he likes to take off downfield with the ball. Accident waiting to happen, Madden cover or not.

Agreed, I would be happy to see Johnson come to Detroit, even though it will be 4 top 10 picks at WR in 5 years :p

yeah but none of the other WR's were even close to showing the level of talent Johnson has, no one expects Johnson to be an average player so you can't bash them for taking him.

it seems every draft there is a couple 'hot' QB's, you know 'the one' so it might be wise to pass on a QB and grab a guy like Johnson since 'hot' QB's come out every year, a guy like Johnson - not so.

No one expected the others to be average players, either, except maybe Mike Williams.

For laughs, I just checked out the Yahoo! mock. They have Detroit taking Joe Thomas second overall.
