Just back to the SSE stuff....
You don't have to force SSE on Intel's, but it still needs to run. If you look at the logstats screenshot for bilnfon, SSE isn't running. I have 5 Intel rigs, and in logstats it says whether or not SSE is running. If SSE falls over, I simply restart the client.
Regardless of Intel or AMD, SSE is not 100% stable.
Finally, Extreme Overclocking has the new update page redone. It's quite a bit different than before. New cover page with news No more graphs or threat and conquer list. Threats and conquests are now color coded under each members personal page.
Go check it out.
i don't know....i liked the old one better. The graphs were great and the conquer/threat lists with the expected dates were real cool too. This seems less functional to me.:confused:
It does take some getting used to. The expected dates are still there, they're in the far right column. I wish it did have more colors. Colors are :cool:.Quote:

I hate to dog on a guy that does something like that, but I like the old one a lot better. I wonder if he will add to it, but it seems like a huge step back. Seems a lot more like Statman with the added overtake information.Quote:

in all seriousness though, i thought the old ones were a lot nicer looking and also a bit more informative. these ones just kinda look, well, blah...
Biggest difference for me is that it's harder to read the colors at a glance on that light background. On the old page you could instantly see the reds/oranges/yellows/greens/whites while scrolling.
I also prefer the old version by far. I do like that now you can see more people in your threat/conquer dates. But the poor colors and everything else leave me overall missing the old one.
I think i'll sign up to that forum and pm him about maybe changing the background to a darker color. I'll also ask him about reinstating the graphs.:) Does that sound wise or incredibly foolish?

Does anyone know where the team threats are listed on the EOC site? I'm having a hard time using the new ones.
i found them by luck, so i don't know how to get there, but when you do, it's on the far right, you might have to scroll over a little, try clicking overtake list on the left and then doing some searching...Quote:

:( It took her computer 3 days for a 500frame gromacs core...now she has a 400frame tinker...probably take it over a week...lol.

I liked the old brighter colors better, but now you don't have to wait during updates and the future conquests list includes all the teams above that you will ever catch.
Honestly, I think more work could have gone into making the old site always available. Remember, Stanford only puts out new updates every few hours. I do like how you can see more conquests going out, but if you already have 5, then do you really need to know that everyone else is going to kick your butt? :) The bad thing about the threats is having to look through all pages to find another team that's a threat. For example, we have 1 threat, but they are on a seperate page.Quote:

Amen to that. At least as far as the core data and readability went, the old EOC stats were about as good as it gets. Keeping the same format but adding view-during-upload capability woulda been great. Oh well, there's always the memories... *sigh*Quote:

Just started up here with SF and have F@H up and running on one measly PII Server box - but I plan on getting it up and running on 6 more similar machines here. Contemplating picking-up a small Hub and creating a 8-node cluster with old surplus machines from the State of Oregon to do some clustering research - I might as well load it up on those beasties as well.

The bad news about 19 minutes per frame on a 3.0GHz P4 and 22 minutes per frame on a 2.8GHz P4, at least for the first couple of frames, maybe it will speed up. I sure hope my daughter's celeron 900MHz doesn't get one....let see that would be 10 may be 12 days.
I just got one on my 2.4B 28mins/frame. It's a p859_p53dimer859, with SSE enabled..... I'll take it over a 70 point tinker any day.Quote:

BTW, anyone else having trouble uploading? I have about 500points just waiting for some Stanford loving.
Things seem to be uploading properly for me.
I have an 859 on both my 2.4B and 2.66B with SSE enabled. 2.4B is running at 24 min/frame and my 2.66B is running at 21 min/frame.
I wondered why my finished WUs had slowed some today -- I've got 10 858s cooking right now. :eek: Should make for a good day if they all finish sometime late tomorrow. :)
