that definately looks pretty cool though, i wonder how the performance of something like that would be, if it for the most part, lossless, or if there's a good amount of overhead in keeping the 2 systems tied together.

right. the performance of those clusters is probably common knowledge, but i'd like to find out myself first hand. i would guess there has to be *some* overhead mostly in the form of bottlenecks -- especially if you get into dozens or even hundreds of processors -- but depending on how you implement the cluster, that could probably be minimized quite a bit.

That is very much like what I am working on, main difference is that each node has a hard drive and mine will have only one drive for X systems.

Hmm....SETI Stack had a ring to it, Folding Stack just does not have a nice ring to it. We'll need to come up with a new name for it.

it's simply amazing reading through all of these posts and seeing all of the systems being added by so many different people. i just wish that i could do that. i'm on top of of the one systermers and that's as far as i'm going to go...and i'm currently sitting at spot number 22 and all i'm doing is falling...but who cares?!! the team is doing awesome!!! :D :D

how would you do that? what would you need

a mobo, cpu, and ram?
