Crap....just got an email from BestBuy saying that the item I ordered is backordered again. This sux. :(
Which item was that? The 9800?
The way I am going to be overclocking once my GPU cooler comes in... I am going to leave Pyro in 36th place.
Yup. :(Quote:

This is the absolute best I can muster up at the moment.

I need some new hardware. I think I'm gonna wait for the 256 meg 9800. I have a feeling it may be available soon. That plus canterwood and a new CPU should easily do it.
So my plans are to get an Abit Canterwood the second they hit newegg. I'll see if I can hit 20K with just that upgrade. Then I'll pick up a new 2.8 or 3.0 800fsb CPU. A little while later I'll get a 256 meg 9800pro. That should do it. :)
I'm done for a bit. Somebody elses turn to break 19K :D
*Steps off the podium*
It was fun racing to 20K guys!!!

Christ it only took me a 9800 at 515/371 to do it. Lord almighty that was tough.
I also modded my PSU to give me 12.3v and 5.25 volts respectivley. That helped me get my FSB up to 175. I had to run at 4:5 mem to do it but hell I made it!!!!!!
WooHoo!!!
vertices, very impressive!!! May I be the first, or second, or third to say JOB WELL DONE!! Congrats... :D
I will update the database shortly. Geez...you've pulled away a good ~1,700 3dmarks away from #2, me.
Colossus, where are you at? We need to take this cat down.
AWESOME!!!!! Totally awesome vertices!!! the first person to hit 20K at Sharkies :D .. Congrats .. Keep the marks comin ;)
May i suggest we see some 3Dmark 03' goodness with ur new bad boy ;)
You know the 03 marks are comin;)
I'm actually gonna wait till my 2nd Heatercore gets here. Hopefully I will be here early next week. I gotta leave tomorrow to go to Tampa till Sunday and don't really have much time to fool with itnow anyways.
I'll have 03 Marks and Pics posted next week.:)
vertices, thebove, speedstream5621, and lostlilchild6 most of your scores have been updated.
Note: vertices and lostlilchild6, I haven't added your scores to the individual classes yet but the Top 10 is updated.
I must say by comparing our 3dmark team with other teams such as Oc-forum's OC3DMark Team and many others we are doing quite well, very well. Especially for the number of members on our team compared to others. Good job everyone...and may the overclock be with you. :)
Workin on pushing that even higher Pyro! :D
Just ordered an Abit IC7-G Canterwood board. It's supposed to be in next week and will ship out via Fedex 2 day air.
Dual Channel Memory and AGP 8X. I should be able to hit 21K with that! :D
Dude, you better break 21K. That could put you on the 1st page.
Yeah that'd be great! I'm only in the middle of page 5 now. Damn I would love to make it to the first page. I think I'm gonna need a new CPU though to do that. I plan on getting a 2.8Ghz 800fsb CPU when they hit the shelves too.
I want to make first page with my 9700Pro on water!!!
hehehe, But not sure if I have it in me!
Ohh yeah, Just an update... I tossed my Asus P4PE out and waiting for my Canterwood..
I didnt toss it out but I sold it for $120 :) :D
21,000?!? Jesus. :)
I'm happy that I just broke 15,000 on 2k1 and 5,000 on 2k3 with my P4 2.53ghz @ stock and my 9700 overclocked (with some heavy tweaking, too).
Theres nothing wrong with 15k. I remember when 6k was outstanding. :) What are the rest of your computer specs? If your really into 3dmarks/tweaking/OCing etc. check out my 3dmark guide( link in my sig).Quote:

IT doesnt look good for me :(
I dont think I will make it on the board with that Canterwood board... They just dont overclock well with the lower fsb processors...
Well atleast this is my experience from this board and the other person who has the Springdale...
So back to the 8PE667 U I go... But atleast I can water cool that and get the #2 spot with a core of over 400Mhz :)
I'm thinkin' about grabbing the Epox or Abit mobo. The only thing that disappoints me with the Epox is the limited vcore. Though the pin vcore mod would easily fix that problem. Over at Vr-zone the Epox hit 297 FSB with an unlocked 3ghz ES.
I actually followed your 3D Mark guide (outside of overclocking my processor) nearly to the "T" -- I partially combined it with how I usually tweak my system.Quote:

Part of what following the guide included was separting my game/app installs from my Windows installation (having them on separate partitions), and I'm happy with the results. I'm keeping more current on my defrags, and that combined with the separation has my Battlefield maps loading noticeably faster. :) This has also been the first installation I've broken 15k on. I was around 14,740 on 2k1 and 4,800 on 2k3 before.
Relevant computer specs (hard drives are 7200RPM 2mb Cache):
- P4 2.53ghz
- Asus P4T533-C
- 512mb PC1066 RDRAM (Samsung)
- Sapphire Radeon 9700 flashed to Gigabyte 9700 Pro @ 335/324 (could push core further)
I could push the FSB a little no problem, but I'm not sure how far I could get on RDRAM, let alone with the retail cooler.
Awesome humanity!!! :) I'm glad the guide helped you out. I too like the multiple partitions. I keep everything alot more organized now.

Have you tried OC'ing the CPU? How high of FSB did you obtain? I've read usually the Samsung RDRAM works well up to the mid 150's FSB. Though I've seen afew extreme OC'ers get their RDRAM way past that.
BTY, when you state "retail cooling", is that with the dreaded thermal tape? I pray not... :o
