Kaladrax is still well detailed even though he was blown up on accident.

There are some quality issues. On my Kaladrax, the torso wasn't connected perfectly.
Overall, I am very impressed and am super happy that I was able to get in on the Kickstarter. I didn't realize physically how many minis I would be getting. Throwing numbers around on a forum gets abstract, but once you get your hands on these its incredible how much value there is here. Where else could you fill an entire table with minis for ~$130?!?
Can't wait to start painting. I think I'm going to wash them with soapy water like Tag and I were talking about several months ago first. Then I'll pick out a few to work with.
Supposed to get mine tomorrow. I can't wait!
What are you using as a case holder? I was considering a large tackle box.
I don't know yet. Doesn't really matter until I paint them. They are made of soft plastic, so they won't break. You can throw them and they will be fine.
Those pics are awesome. I am anxious to see you get started painting.
As for storage, tackle boxes are great. So are plastics bins or shoe boxes.

This is hilarious. Did your Kaldarax box have a message on it?
I don't seen anything like that on my flap. I have lore written on the left hand flap, but nothing else.
Wait, it does. Its on the bottom flaps. It says the Penguin thing and Supplies! On Cthulu it says la! la! On the clockwork dragon it says: "Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful." -Mary Shelly, Frankenstein.
Nice easter eggs.
With all the mini related excitement, I used this afternoon to set my daughter up to paint and even got my wife involved.

Oh that's great. She is concentrating so hard. I like how she holds her paint brush :)
BTW I'll probably go through my minis today and use that spreadsheet to see if I got everything. Can't wait for you guys to get yours, we will have to do some painting.
No air brush yet.
I's like to practice with regular brushes and try my hand at wash painting first. Do you have to base coat these? I would think not since they are already white.
The best results are had from washing with soap and water in the sink and then not priming*. My suggestion is to remove mold lines with an exacto, if you want, then wash with soap, then put a base coat of the colors where you want them, then a quick wash followed by drybrushing with the original color (something a shade or two lighter is good too). This is basically what is taught in the first Learn to Paint kit. Youtube is a great resource for tutorials, but so are this thread and this thread.
I am all for setting up a time to Skype as we paint. I have enough stuff that I could join in now if you guys want.
I'll probably do a very light primer with a black/gray/white depending on the color scheme. I practiced one a few bones around the time I got into the kickstarter and I found the base coat stuck better with a light primer. With my air brush I can get a much lighter coat of primer on them than I can with a can. Then its just the major colors, wash, highlight, detail like normal. I may try my hand at blending for the clothing. I've done it before and its hard, but manageable. The results can be stunning.
I don't have a webcam, can I Skype with an iPad?
Yes, you can Skype with an iPad.
I'd e down for a skype session.
That said I got my box today and tore into. Some bad news though...my Kaldrax is missing the left leg and I have 2 left arms. I'm not sure who to talk to to get this fixed. I'm not mad but really disappointed
I did a quick GIS and it looks like I'm not alone. .
Ouch. I guess they got a bad batch from China or something. That sucks. Out of the hundred+ minis, Kaladrax had the problem... bummer.
I think my Kaladrax is s lightly different mold form yours. The neck, torso, and staring tail are all a single molded piece.
I was reading on the forum earlier and one guys had ~40 duplicate minis and was short ~30 minis. Make sure and check your orders. I think that it was said that if they had a 99.5% accuracy that everyone would have 1-2 errors so they are expecting to have to fix factory mistakes.
Tag, as I said on the Reaper forums, make sure and email Reaper. They are awesome at correcting mistakes and most likely won't even make you hassle with returning stuff. Just don't expect them to get to it until after the Kickstarter (and maybe a short holiday after that, lol).
I'll go through all my minis this weekend. I didn't notice any duplicates.
You should have two candelabras and no victim for the altar, btw. That was change at some point.
On a side note, should I move on from trading for Kaly? I am thinking of placing a preorder somewhere if that is the case.
I figure I'll go through mine otnight. I found one mini fig that was tossed in the overall shipment and I have no idea what it is. It looks like a female wizard with a staff but I can't find it on the vampire pledge.
EDIT: Turns out it was Hyrekia, Dragonthrall Mage
Mr. Bones was apart of the Vampire Kickstarter but I can't find any mention of Hyrekia on the kickstarter. Maybe she got thrown in as an added thanks you?
EDIT: Ahh okay...shes Kaladrax's assistant and is included with his model. Okay that makes more sense.
