what im wondering, is checking madonion and comparing my results, on a clean install, using the exact same system settings same clock speeds, same drivers ETC, others scores are maybe 500-1000 higher, where are they CHEATING to hit these scores. I tweaked the hell out of my setup to hit the numbers I did, so I know there are little cheats or perhaps only options available thar are going to increase these numbers substantially.

3DM2K1 does not report the GPU or Memory speed of your video card. My scores go up about 10-15pts per MHz OC over stock. It also misreports the FSB of oc'd mobos, so if I do a bench at 154 it will report it as 143 or (sometimes) leave the area blank (depending on the brand). Also the same system (all hardware and installed drivers identical) can vary as much as 500pts with a clean format and reinstall (in w98se) which is probably due to an uncluttered registry. Defragging and trying different chipset drivers can help, and if all else fails you can use a peice of software like softfsb to spoof up a higher score (I think this still works anyways).Quote:

i appreciate your reply, do understand however that everything you mention I am well aware of. Most listed scores also list the cards speeds out of courtesy or boasting rights, all my scores were shot on clean installs with nothing but the absolute bare minimum software installed. read some my previous posts on this board to get an understanding of what was done. I am not new to this stuff, i do *know* there are some tricks and thats what I was searching for.Quote:

Installed a second 256m stick of ram and increased AGP aperature from 64 to 256. Went from 4669 to 4697.
Upgraded drivers from 21.83 to 23.11 and went from 4697 to 4750.

RE: the FSB spoof. Do you know if it still works? I figure if it does (and the whole not reporting FSB over a certain speed applies to other mobos) I could boost a real score up to +10% on my mobo without being a dead givaway (ie don't drop below 142FSB). A serious overclocker, with a max 166+FSB and a GF3 could get an extra 1000 or so points this way. possible?
