I have a AMD 2.25 and a Intel 2.4 folding 24/7 since early last week I add a another 2 more 2.4's I also have 2 friends that help be out with 2-3 rigs each. Thats a total of 9 rigs running this weekend. theabove shows only 2 rigs. His 2 rigs turned in 7 WU's for 172 points today. While my 9 rigs turned in only 5 WU's for 156 points. Now I know these scores vary by luck of the draw but this seem way out of proportion. 2 rigs cranking out 7 WU's in a day? That 2.5 WU's per day. Hell most of my machines are on days per WU's not WU's per day. *** am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you're getting tinkers :| low scoring but they take a helluva lot of time to get through.

Another competition would be awesome, but a little optimistic.

What gets me is that we have 32000+ members (granted not all of them active) yet we only have about 50 active folders... *sigh*

I'm with Vert, not going anywhere, I may only crank out 60 - 100 points per day but every little bit counts :)

Allthough my production has literally decimated because of tinkers, I have, unknowingly, crossed the 15000 mark. Yoohooh, I'm happy :D

Adjusting the points system for tinkers is not going to happen, I think. They'll have to recalculate all stats, from the beginning of the project till now. think that's a bit overkill considering it's only about points.

So I've decided I'm going to blackmail them. Send them an E-mail: One more tinker on our team and we'll quit. Now that's going to hurt! [/sarcasme]

EDIT: Oh, and by the way: I'm with vertices too. Not going anywere, instead I've added another 466 MHz. XP1800 -> XP2400

Hallelujah – after seemingly endless weeks of nothing but Tinkers (which by the way Fah LogStats recognizes as 50 pointers) I FINALLY got a 33-point unit and can hopefully be done with the Tinkers for a little while. Maybe get back to 600 points or so per week instead of the 210 I have been contributing.:p

It does seem to get better. Allready three days without tinkers.

Well good news. I have added a lot of computers, the only thing is they are only running when people are logged on to them so they wont be folding very fast. I still have a few more I can add, just have to get to them. (Most of these are p4 but some are slower.)

so how many people do we have folding at once now?

I believe that if you use the console version and set it up as a service, it will run even when nobody is logged in...

How do I set it up as a sevice. I have the graphic console installed. I just don't see how it will run when people log off. (It will always run when anyone is logged onto the computer.)

There are several guides floating around. Here is one and here is another.

I reccomend using the second method. I've always had perfect results with that one.

You know things are bad when I'm one of the top 15 producers with 122 points 24hr avg.

I also noticed that we just overtook Linux. Take THAT good-for-nothing Linux!

Same here. Those tinkers have been costing me about 150 points a day. 60 hours for 50 points? I won't miss em :)

Wow, with Fats, Beast, and Thermo gone, and i'm sure a few others left, we're at like half of our "normal" production. We need a few farms or something...Conquer On!:)

Yeah it sucks that the team appears to be slowly dieing. We need some more heads up in here!

I can understand that mega-producers Thermo and Beast backed off for heat/electricity reasons, but I can't believe we don't have more 1-or-2-computer folders here...

I just joined the team....

I can get another 30 or so FAST computers folding as well, as long as F@H can be installed as a service (following those last few guides) when I don't have "administrator" access privledges....is this possible?

A) Glad to have you!
B) If you don't have administrator priveleges, it's probably for a reason. Ask the person that does admin those systems before even thinking about installing the Folding client.

yeah, make sure you get privileges first from the admin. Any good admin would notice there's an extra service taking up 100% of the cycles...and when he/she finds it, it'll be deleted and you won't get a chance to explain, cuz you installed it without permission. So just ask him/her and do it the right way.:)
