Alright, ladies. With RealBeast and Thermo gone, it's time to get our asses in gear...but, ummmm, well...I'm graduating+moving+without-income-for-two-months, so it's up to everyone but me! :D
Hopefully I'll add an A64 or P4C/E folder after I move and get settled into the new job...

After much delay, I should be adding some workunits to contribute. Should have 2 machines running it shortly.

Now that I'm on school vacations. I had to take out the 16+ p4 2.0 at school. :( They weren't folding 24/7 anyways. But I'll be back in 3-4 weeks :D

Guys I got a question, I have been monitoring my cpu useage, and I have noticed, useage dips to like 5% like 5 times in each WU. But its always at the same point for each frame. My question, is this the program creating the checkpoint, B/C it seems not to affect my stabilty, nor my time per frame. Whats your guys take on this?

The 79 core used to do that for me as well. Try updating your FAH version as my CPU usage stays at 100% all the time now.

I already have Version 4.0. It cool it seems not to affect anything and thus, I leave it be, but its weird my intel laptop dose not do this:p

From what I gather tinkers are good for AMDs now and double gromacs (core 79, SSE2) are good for Intels.

AMD flags should be -forceSSE
Intel flags should be -advmethods (double gromacs/no tinkers)
-forceSSE is not needed on Intel, but it doesn't hurt either.
There are also other tags that can be used, but these are the main ones for performance.

I overtook Thermo today and in 16 days will take the #1 spot.:):D

Although I did get tinkers with -advmethods on... got a LOT of them actually. It probably wouldn't hurt to take off -advmethods as it should increase the chances of getting a tinker. (heh, never would have said that a month ago ;))

Like I said tinkers are good on AMD chips. Tinkers work well on Intel as well, but the double gromacs are better.

I'm just dropping by to say that my P3 900, P4 1.6, 1800+ and 2000+ are still folding and that I'm still alive:p

Looks like I'm still holding on strong to my spots right around 40th place!

grrr I used to have a good folding farm, 2 2500 bartons, XP 2000, and Pentium M 1.3GHZ. Now I only have a barton [email protected] and the Pentium M:(

After my car insurance payment, mabey i add a cheap rig and use it as a server.

had the advmethods tag on my intel machine and got nothing but tinkers for almost three months.

Is getting tinkers or not all that the -advmethods tag affects? I admit I took mine off for the chance at grabbing some big point tinkers. I'm a bit tired of having over 200 WUs and less than 5500 points. :( Altho I'm happy just to be contributing to the cause - beating cancer is near and dear to my heart.

Looks like I am catching up to a couple of you guys. I have been setting goals by looking at who has X amount of points above me and then try to reach them in a given amount of time. I thought it funny to see a post from you BlueOval since I set my goal at passing you within by the end of the weekend. I also set my eyes on passing vengeance next week. I know its not a competition, but it is fun to set these personal little goals. I have my main rig folding near 24/7, just through together a 2100+ for my girlfriend and have it folding, have another rig folding every once in a while (amd @ 2ghz) and will be attempting to add a couple of small-fries to the mix... some older rigs that I might be able to set up.


Sorry BlueOval, I don't know the answer to your question or else I would help, but hopefully one of the more experience sharky's can help out soon. I put the -force SSE in my desktop shortcut, but I don't know if has done anything. I will say that I don't think I have had any of those 160point monsters since I added that.

heh Looks like you already did! I've been having my old XP1800+ running pert near 24/7 and had to give my 2100+ a break while waiting for new RAM. Got a third machine going now, but not 24/7. The third one needs to be a bit quieter. After I get some more Panaflos or maybe Silenx's I'll have 3 mchines goin full tilt. Then maybe I can repass ya. ;)

I have the forceasm, forcesse, and verbosity 9 tags all on. Took off the advmethods tag; but so far no 160-pters, although I did have a couple 123?-pters right after I did that. I also used to have Gromacs@Home as my preferred WU, but have since switched back to either F@H or No Preference. Anyone know which is better as far as points go?

Yeah, we made 46, but looks like we will cap out around 37 unless we get MORE PEOPLE to fold! 90 of 222?? What happened to the rest of you? :(
