Teams often make reaches to get players they want and give up more than they're worth on the open market, that's just part of the game. The problem with the Redskins is that they do that on several players per year.Quote:

It will be interesting to see how the Browns do compared to the Lions, since they got the 2 guys Detroit could have picked instead of CJ.
The Eagles can afford to take risks, they didn't really have any GLARING needs. I still think Miami taking Ginn early is the worst move so far, not only because he would have been available later, but because they have much more glaring needs than WR and KR imo.Quote:

It was strange for the Eagles to take Kolb because they may have been able to get him with with there late 2nd round pick, and got someone else with he earlier one. Like i said, Reid must really see something to take him higher than he projected. I still think we went for a QB a year or even 2 early, If we run the ball like we did the last half of the season, Mcnabb should have 3-4 good years left in the tank.

I think he's a bad fit for Detroit, but then again the Detroit fans would go apeshit if they didn't take him. I don't think he's going to make a big impact his first season.
Maybe he is the new "Barry Sanders" for Detroit, they need a big play guy. But it might not matter if they can't get a QB to deliver the ball, and an O line to protect the QB.

Don't get me wrong... McCaffry was a great WR back in the day. But as far as pure physical talent goes... there is no comparison.
I don't think that Johnson will have that big of an impact in Detroit either... as you guys have mentioned... no line, not a very good QB, and not e very good running game. And a bad defense.
But it's a good pick I think. Him and Roy Williams will be great someday I think.
