Is anyone with a HT enabled cpu running two instances of F@H? If so how's that working out for you? I was thinking of trying it out.

That maxpc link is a very good one and one I've had bookmarked and steer people towards for some time now. I'm on AMD but the HT possibilites look good try it out
Well, for the 83% that you have passed it would be a goal to strive for. ;) IIR, it took me 8 months to get to 7% in Seti.Quote:

Yeah it is 4.7Million on seti 268,000 folding

Yep, the top 10% or so of Seti is some real tough competition. And I only had 2 rigs on it at the start. With the set up I have now, its easy to stay on top of. I can drive all of the systems from one rig, and I have a little moniter set up that will tell me if a system fails to restart or hangs during an auto reboot. It sends me an email :) I'm working on a script to poll the systems every so often to see if the client is active. I want it to be sorta like fire and forget. No attention from me unless something goes wrong. I collect the dust once a month and leave them to their folding :)
I was just thinking……What is this, our third week? We must be attracting a little attention by now. The other teams in our score range must be wondering WTH Sharkys is, and how we manage to climb the ladder so rapidly.
Now we need to set a target of 80 processors by the end of this month. Be it additional systems or new members, it doesn’t mater. 36 more chips by the end of the month.
I have 10 going now, although this 400 celery is really dragging butt. Thanks to the link from above, I can run another client on my 1.7 dually, and I’ll get the old 2.0Willy going by the end of the week. Then I can finish my antique dually 500Xeon and run 2 clients on that. All told it will be 14 cpu’s, 6 new,which leaves 30 to go. These I leave to you guys. It's time to drag out the parts boxes and patch em up. I have a 300 and a 200 too, but I don’t think I could stand to watch them try to fold. It would be just too awful!
PS: I don’t suppose any of you guys would have an old Slot 2 Xeon voltage regulator laying around ????? I can buy a pretty nice AMD setup for what Compaq wants for one.
I just started folding on my main rig, I need to get 2 clients going though. This makes me want to re-assemble my 2100+ 8RDA+ rig and let it fold also. Maybe the laptop too...

Oh yeah we are conquering. Though I do notice on the current folding ranking we moved down 1 position in the past three hours of their database. Because we had only 33 points turned in in that 3 hour period. No matter I'm sure we're all just in the middle of WU's. The extremeOCing database is a few hours behind the stanford one but its still the best thing going.Quote:

BTW stanford sets the deadlines for the WU's based on a 500 celeron machine so using something slower than a 500 celeron might not complete before the deadline. I've been told if you configure your Client type for Genome@home there's no deadlines. I'm not sure that will help or hinder our folding stats though. I like I hope everyone choose folding@home for the client type.
Though it shows me as having only 2 active cpus. I have added the client on two other rigs at my work though they are 40 hours a week and not 24/7. They're P4 2.4's though so I'm hoping for a WU or two a week. Vertices is going to add a total of some 10Ghz I believe this month so we'll be doing fine.

Saps, what's the easiest way to change my login to the SE team for this, since my two systems I will have doing this are currently in the middle of work units.
i'm pretty sure you can just go to "configure" and just enter the new team number and it should work just fine. i haven't tested this out, though, so i'm not sure if it actually works...Quote:

Yeah these guys are right just make it 34149. Un4 do you know about enabling SSE? This is a rather long thread and there's numerous posts on how to do it right. If you have questions let me know. SSE makes about a 20% difference in WU completion time.Quote:

This is prolly as slow a 400 as was ever built, it's an old compaq deskpro. Everyone in my department has better hardware, and I got stuck with this cast off POS. I can't deal with it so I lug my laptop back and forth everyday. At least I get free antivirus for the Laptop :)

How does one know if they are working on a 2500 or 500 or whatever? :D
I have the graphical version and it has a nice little display and you can look at your log file. With the graphical verison minimized I do believe it is as fast as the console version
either just hover over the red icon in your system tray and it will say xxx/2500 or xxx/500, etc. Or click on the icon, and it will bring up a screen that says on the left panel under "wu progress" how big it is.
